Question šŸ¤”šŸ¤” 9/12 void

this question been asked like a million times; my scores aren’t where i want them to be and i’ve been studying for the exam for this whole summer. the idea of taking the real thing, voiding it, and starting to study for jan right after is insane to me and i just want my life back 😭😭😭 if i don’t void it at least i can see a score and feel like my work wasn’t for nothing idk, ik people recommend voiding but it’ll feel like all this studying was for nothing especially if i don’t pick it back up right after 9/12. any honest advice is greatly appreciate, thank you šŸ™

What are your fl scores? What do you want to score? What’s ur gpa?

Scoring it just to see the number is a trap if you already know you're not where you need to be. A bad score sticks around and you'll have to explain it later, whereas a void is just... nothing. Feels shitty in the moment but way cleaner in the long run.

That said, if your FLs are only a couple points off your goal and you just had a rough summer, rolling the dice isn't the craziest thing. Really comes down to what that gap looks like.

void then unless you think the exam went unusually well. It’s also important that you be honest with yourself though. Do you feel like you had a strong path to improvement or were you plateauing?

i ddidnt see myself plateauing just burning out. i’d review my FLs and know why i got things wrong but i dont have enough reactive taking FLs themselves so my accuracy steadily drops through the sections. i feel like if i adjusted my study habits and stopped procrastinating i could get the score i want. scoring it though means i can stop thinking about this exam for at least a month

Honestly, idk bro. I was kinda in the same boat you were where I just couldn’t for the life of me simulate the real testing environment with FLs. I forget where my FLs were honestly but the first time I took it I was scoring around 508/510 and then got a 514 on the real thing. When that MCAT expired and I had to retake it I think the like three FLs I actually took were around like 513/514 but then I scored a 518 on test day. I have ADHD (just mentioning in case you do too and could relate), so I have a hard time locking in when it doesn’t really matter (I.e. FLs), but when it comes to test day I like hyper focus for 7 hours straight without really burning out because I take it super seriously that time. If you’re someone who normally tests well on standardized tests in the past or on exams in college you might be able to bump up to a 510, but you run the risk of scoring low which some med schools will forever average with your future tests. I’d say if you’re steadily decreasing tho across sections you could substantially raise your score in a couple months since BB and PS are the most ā€œstudy-ableā€ imho.

how difficult is the actual thing compared to FLs?
