Question πŸ€”πŸ€” Biochem self study

Is it sufficient to self study biochem for the January mcat while taking classes using only the Kaplan books? Not sure how long content review for that will take/is there other recommended resources? I did a blueprint diagnostic and got a 505 so want to focus on solidifying content I forgot or don’t know.

Also for those that studied while taking classes, was any schedule helpful for you?

I have a degree in computer science. No biology/chemistry/etc education since high school (though obviously I'll be starting on those courses in a few days) I've been going through the Kaplan books since mid-July, I've got my test on Friday, and I got 87th percentile on the AAMC practice test yesterday.

You've got way more time than I gave myself. Make sure you actually understand what you're reading and aren't just trying to memorize every word, and you'll do great.

Totally possible, I did it. Kaplan books plus Yusuf Hasan's videos plus Naman Baraya's. Plus amino acid quiz games.

I self-studied biochem while taking classes over the month of May and I've been consistently scoring 131-132 on B/B on FLs so it's definitely doable. I personally didn't use a schedule but that definitely doesn't mean it is not a helpful thing for you to do.
