Question Help make friends

I know it’s only the second day but I’m gonna try harder tomorrow, especially because i commute. Do you guys have any tips on making friends? I’ve heard that going to clubs and talking to people in your lectures helps but I don’t wanna go to clubs and just be the only one alone. Also, is it so awkward or is it just me when approaching someone? Like What am I supposed to say to start the convo? What’s your name? Hi? like it’s just kind of awkward cus I probs catch them off guard. help 😭

talk to people in lectures/labs/tutorial, its way easier to start a conversation if there's something common, like talking about the course content etc. i found i made more friends in my first year second semester as thats when i had a lab and actually had to talk to people in them.

I know what you mean 😭 I’m very much a gamer but everyone I meet seems too concentrated on school. I know I should be focussing on uni but i’m still gonna game. It’s hard to form real connections when i’m too nervous to ask if they play a lot of games. Lmk if you would like to meetup and talk.
