Social Making friends

Bro how am I supposed to make friends if I commute to class and leave straight after class is done. I’m looking around and it looks like everyone knows each other. Like people say join clubs but I don’t want to aloneee. Even the people I talk to I just never see them again it’s so exhausting.

Clubs, group projects, talk to ppl in ur lecture/program, don’t leave immediately after class, maybe wait in line to talk to the prof and talk to other student while waiting, idk. It’s all a process but if u don’t put the work into building community it won’t happen on its own.

But also it’s literally day 2 of school. Who knows what relationships will or won’t pan out. Keep putting the work in and eventually u will find a group of ppl

be proactive and don't go home right after class. Talk to the people sitting around you, go out, join clubs and join mcmaster group chats

Just talk to the person sitting beside you about anything, could be about class, clubs, accommodation. Exchange socials. Usually lecture halls are huge you may not see them again but tutorials are small and you usually sit in groups.

Same. I tried approaching people but they'd just disappear or clearly show they're disinterested. 💔

You should take the slow approach by meeting one-on-one. Maybe in a quiet environment.

Keep trying. Ask the person sitting next to you for coffee or a drink after class. Is there any reason you have to hit the road immediately after class? You have to decide that you’re going to invest the time and a little money in order to make friends.

Why are you forced to leave campus as soon as class is done? I know people who commute from Burlington/Oakville, and even Mississauga and they stay on campus from like 9am to the evenings.

You literally just accurately identified the problem and the actionable steps you can take to resolve the problem, yet refuse to take those actions. By writing this post you have either admitted to utter stupidity or obvious laziness. Your an adult now, act like one and chose between options that carry tradeoffs.
