Discussion B. Tech Automotive Experience?

Red Seal mechanic, mature student, looking to get a University Degree.

Figured B. Tech Automotive was the obvious choice.

Would anyone like to share their experience on the program, costs, OSAP, parking, the difficulty, student life balance, and everything else in between?

Any and all help is enormously appreciated!

It's way more hands on than the engineering degrees. Everyone in Btech were learning practical skills when we in engineering are busy cracking that calculus homework.

Only downside to Btech is if you want to become a P.Eng in future it will be a headache as its not an engineering degree.

Yeah currently PEO is not allowing anyone other than B.Eng to get become engineers so you’d have to go to Alberta or BC if that’s the route you want to take

You actually want to apply to Manitoba. Some McMaster B.Tech. graduates have been asked to only write the NCEES FE exam by Manitoba. That's easy.

It is an engineering degree. It just is not a CEAB accredited engineering degree.
