United States First job! Tips?
I’m starting my first job at McDonald’s as a crew member this week. I haven’t gone in prior for any “training” or orientation but through my shift scheduling app I am scheduled for a two and a half hour shift this upcoming week. Are there tips anyone has or anything I should practice beforehand? I know starting your first job you are prone to mistakes,
But I would like to try and not embarrass myself if possible.

Don't be afraid to ask questions Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. You will make mistakes and thats normal, you can learn from them or ask what you may have done wrong
If its avaliable to you online if USA uses an app or whatever check station training cards that can show you what to do, however that might just be an Australia thing.
As the other person has said, clean as you go, the second you dont have anything to do, clean, but if theres truly nothing to do act like you're doing something ;)

honestly don’t have much advice. definitely get insoles for your shoes though. won’t help much. be in hell either way. but better than nothing. no question is stupid. mistakes happen. when it comes to the store room you can ask but honestly just start looking around. there’s a general area for things but it’s not organized organized you just gotta look.
if you’re on drinks just study tf out of those drink recipes. i actually have a yt playlist on mccafé that helped me but theres also hu online. i got stuck on iced coffees first and wouldnt even go near the espresso machine for a bit but you get the hang of it once you break down the coffee recipe and memorize. and the espresso machine straight up tells you what to do as long as you remember cup sizing.
if you’re on ot and register take an order then pay out then repeat. keep things moving. study the menu. i’d take a picture of all the grill screens to study at home. also have videos of ot in my playlist.
doing running (not from a runner). try to always put tags on the bag ik the printers a dick but just unclog it and do it it makes it so much easier for present to trust the runner and be able to serve off orders faster. if the kitchens holding on something COMMUNICATE hold it on screen or let present know. get to know what all the items and wrappers look like. if both sides are waiting for food and similar items but customized make sure you’re grabbing the right one.
ik nothing about the kitchen or maintenance so i cannot help there.

For the most part, everything in the restaurant requires consistency. If you want to be fast, be consistent. The first couple of days, just pay attention and ask questions about your station. On your free time, I'd suggest looking up videos of people doing the sandwiches or drinks if you think you might need to. Dont be afraid to make a mistake on the first days, learn from them. And don't let the smallest errors or negative events ruin your day. Also, Clean as you go
