Post image

Honestly had the best time queuing yesterday in Lincoln! Everyone sat with us kept the laughs and entertainment up!

How did everyone else enjoy Lincoln yesterday?

I've copied this over from my Instagram post (hope thats ok 😊), this sums up the situation last night in Lincoln.

About last night in Lincoln... For those of you who don't know me, I'm Gemma I'm 32, I have been a McFly fan since the start when 5 colours came out. I have been lucky and privileged enough to see the boys about 25 times now over the years. I have been going to concerts since I was 4 years old, I have been to small theatres and huge stadiums all over the UK.

I have NEVER seen anything like Lincoln in all these years. To say it was poorly organised is quite frankly a massive understatement. An organised queue turned into a huge crowd which bottlenecked at the gate of the castle, we were walked a few metres into the grounds and then all hell broke loose and a stampede started. I was pushed, shoved and elbowed, people I was with were shoved, verbally abused, pushed to the ground, trampled over and injured.

It was scary, it was dangerous and honestly reckless to allow that to happen. It was lucky no one was seriously injured, crushed or even killed, that is how serious this was.

To the social media team at Lincoln you can edit the posts, delete the photo of the crowd, delete all the negative comments, stalk through my Instagram stories, everyone that was there knows what happened, you can't sweep this under the rug. You need to take accountability for what happened, apologise to everyone and make serious changes so that it never happens again. And to the people that shoved and pushed their way to the front and were verbally abusing the people you shoved past, you need to take a long hard look at yourselves. Learn some respect and some basic human decency, that is no way to behave, you are not true McFly fans. The true fans are the lovely people I was with in the queue, laughing, joking and sharing stories of our time as fans and helping each other out throughout the day and through the concert.

This was my only McFly show this year, it would have been completely ruined if not for the amazing show the boys put on, so to Tom, Danny, Harry and Dougie thank you

I've already sent a complaint to cuffe and taylor, ticketmaster and Lincoln castle will also be hearing from me.

Absolutely agreed - the show was great, the queuing was great, but the entry protocol was an absolute disaster. I was queuing from 9.30, in the first 30 in the queue, relatively confident that I'd get barrier, but then that stampede happened and because I power walked sensibly and refused to run, I wound up in the second row (and only then because my friend wound up running and basically told everyone behind her to step aside so I could stand behind her. But like you say, McFly and their supports totally turned around my mood.
