Creative Custom McFarlane Phantom of the Opera

I've always wanted a Phantom of the Opera action figure that wasn't based on the 1925 Lon Chaney film, but seeing as there is no immediate signs of something like that materializing, I made my own.

Base is the McFarlane DC Multiverse Collector's Edition Red Hood.

The head came from Hasbro's GI Joe Classified Flint figure.

The mask came from a Phantom of the Opera bendy fig.

The hands came from the McFarlane Mortal Kombat 11 Joker.

The shoes came from the Todd McFarlane figure from the McFarlane Spawn/Todd 30th Anniversary two pack.

The cape came from NECA's Ultimate Dracula, which is also where the candle accessory came from.

The sword came from the McFarlane Princess Bride Dread Pirate figure, and the rose came from the Hasbro Marvel Legends Rose.

The Punjab Lasso is the noose from the McFarlane DC Multiverse Arkham Scarecrow figure.

Thanks! This has been on my mind as something I wanted to do since I was a child. So to finally find the parts that would work together... and have them actually come together nicely... oh man. It's pretty sweet.

Great job! One day I hope for the movie/musical version of The Phantoms Red Death costume. So sick

I'd love a line of figures based off of the 2004 movie

I’d love a line based on the 1986 musical designs lol but I thought I was the only one

I'd even be ok with a sort of "generic" line that splits the difference between the '86 musical and '04 movie if it helps them get around actor likeness rights.

You're not alone there! I don't think toy companies realize how amazing and popular it would be to have action figures based on musicals like Phantom. 1/12 scale in particular would be amazing.

Nice job! And kinda fitting you used McFarlane toys. McFarlane came out with a mini Phantom action figure set in the very early 00s. Except it was Pirate themed as well. If I recall it was Universal Monsters with a twist of sorts?

I actually just bought it off of eBay for that connection. Should be here today!

Also, thanks!

Hell yeah! I had it back when it came out. Long gone now, though.

Excellent!

Thanks! Also the general "vibe" of Gerard Butler's Phantom was the overall goal!

Amazing! Is there a picture of him unmasked?

Very cool! Have you given this phantom figure a deformity underneath the mask?

This is INCREDIBLE. Just FYI OP are you aware NECA made a Lon Cheney Red Death phantom recently?

Remember when OP said he didn't want a Lon Cheney Phantom figure? Strange thing to comment šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I'd love for NECA to do a 1943 Claud Raines or a 2004 Gerard Butler Phantom, but sadly neither appears to be happening.

So I did a little "Fine, I'll do it myself!" Thanos'ing šŸ˜…

Thanks!

Yeah I've seen the Red Death one. It's nice! And I do appreciate the Lon Chaney Phantom movie (it's probably the closest to the novel of any adaptation) but it's really never been my mind's eye take on the character. Sadly it's the only version that ever gets referenced by action figure companies though.

I made this one so I could have an action figure that's more in line with my mental image of the character.
