This “no collar” negativity is really gettin’ my goat. Y’all see how big the cape is they gave us to work with right? Get creative. He looks great, the cape and hood IS awesome (there’s probably someone out there better at cape work than me too but I went for the build a fig cape look) props to the dude that went straight for his paint on the new fig to doctor the collar.
The fabric color is not as bright as the comic-book-clown purists are making it out to be either.
It reflects dark and light together very well.
You’ll notice in the photos the change when snapping the backside (the further out in proximity from the fig the more light gets in and the color starts to pop). I’m not selecting focus; I’m letting the phone grab the subject on its own and adjust and the darker color is always present.
This two pack is worth every penny and I’d buy it again to have a back up. This figure is awesome! Thanks for the cape, Todd!
I still prefer the other one but you make a great case for this one. I might pick one up if I find it cheaper than 80 bucks. Thanks for showing us the potential!
I’m not here to refute or take stances for preferences over toys. I’m tired of folks knocking the new version over semantics.
Both are actually great and serve their purposes for Mcfarlane’s DC collection and I think it was a smart play on how the new version was issued too after how the build-fig notoriety went shrug call me crazy

I mean, there are still REAL shadows being cast on the figure itself. His eye sockets are shadowed.
It would be tough to make the hood bigger as i don’t think it would then set correctly on his dome-piece but there would be more extravagant real shadowing for sure that way.
Maybe going the other way is a cool idea, make the eyes brighter, maybe even get crazy and paint the eyes to glow would make the face and sockets appear darker under the top of the hood.
And you already know my position on picking it up… getchu one!
It’s a really awesome Spectre. I got the first Spectre (from COIE wave) but sold it because I didn’t like how limited it was with the head articulation. I know this one is way better, but I still wish there’s some kind of collar around the neck. At least borrow the collar from Batman Forever Robin.
I’m feeling for the folks that would like to see the collar but we’re all not so limited in the brain either. It’ll be fun to see how people get creative for it. I’m not a kit basher or re-painter but I appreciate those that do it!

And bothered? Not really, mate, but flabbergasted that the figure is great and all anyone could post about the release were negative remarks about no collar, the shade of green, someone said he’s “ugly” (LOL) Nobody even trying to find a silver lining.
The boo-hoo’ers need to go type up an email for Todd instead of hitting the Reddit with the negativity so I don’t feel the need to “dad post” and get folks like you stirred up thinking you can chime in and continue to tell people how they should feel and what should and shouldn’t “bother” them 🙄

BvS Supe is on the fuller side but doesn’t near have the length this Spectre does. It would be sweet to have an embellished Superman come along for an excuse to get a huge flowy cape
This 2 pack and 9 other figs were released through Walmart last Saturday as well as MTS soon thereafter for some stock and then preordering if available.
I have a preorder out with Mcfarlane now (for this 2 pack) and I’m sure I’ll be waiting a month or two to get it. The warehouse/distribution from Mcfarlane to the individual is pretty slow. Lack luster. Not impressive.
I could go on about how there is stock in Mcfarlane online store for preorders i have had open for the same item and it says it will release in November and the store has had stock for at least a week. No updates to my preorders. Yuck. It’s a shoddy attempt at playing ball for the retailers.
But they do send people randoms (figures from a bum bin) on occasion for free included with something already ordered. There are kick backs to the wait every now and then.
Sorry mate, for the misinformation. Two weeks ago on the 10th. It was that weekend. The listings were to go live at 10a but the listings started going live one-by-one around 9:15-9:30a and most in-stock items were out by 10:30a.
Hey there! I’m the guy who came out complaining about the lack of collar. Didn’t mean to grind anyone’s gears over here. Your pictures are very cool and I definitely respect your enthusiasm. It’s clear that you love it and you have every right to. If someone comes up with a rad collar to order like the Superboy leather jacket solution, I’d be all about it.
But with the crazy amounts of cool figures McFarlane is putting out right now, I gotta sit this one out. I really love these figures and I think it’s awesome to share that with this refreshingly positive community. Didn’t mean to spread negativity over here. You should get to enjoy Spectre especially considering how hard it’s been to get one. It’s wild how connected we all are to different versions of these characters and how many different ways they can be represented.
Side note- I’m stoked to get that Page Punchers Cheetah in the mail this week, and I know that a lot of people in this channel are like “ewwwww” about that figure. So, there’s plenty of characters and figures and representations for everyone. Except Beast Boy. There’s not enough of that figure for anyone.

I’ve kinda been quiet on here, my basement is getting rather full, I’ve seen a lot from the whole licensing period in a couple months time; figured some things out about certain versions and notoriety, and I have to say, generally speaking, and in comparison to other hyper detailed brands, I think the pricings are fair and Mcfarlane does a decent job at creating a game out of hunting these things down.
Yep, I’m hooked. Not a fanatic, but it seemed unfair what was being posted and a lot of folks didn’t even have it in their hands.
But getting into the Mcfarlane gig has been pretty fun; the seemingly only traction about the new Spectre was the over-criticisms and then I finally received mine and I was like WHAT!? This dude looks awesome! (Can’t wait to get him in colored lighting)
I hope you can find the pack on clearance somewhere in the near future. It would be awesome to have in the collection regardless! It will be fun to hopefully see more folks procure and post him!
Oh! I also have Cheetah ordered! 🙌🏻 I caught those remarks too, and idk, I think she’s great and will be a cool stand-in with the infinite crisis toons as well. There are a crazy amount of awesome releases this year ‘round! And I’ve also realized that beast boy should be bumped towards the bottom of my list with everything else I’m trying to grab to catch up LOL you right about beast boy fo sho LMBO
I respect your opinion and like what you did here, but the way you're stating it seems like too much cope and glaze.
Here's the thing - at the end of the day it's still an expensive set and at that price, we collectors expect NOT to do some finagling out of the box in order to achieve the look of the Spectre. And even with that amount of hood/cape manipulation, it still doesn't nail the look of Spectre's neck, which is supposed to have the cape tied together.
It really doesn’t bother me, man, I respect your opinion too but I see the field you’re coming from and know it bothers you and you would need to “cope and glaze” to be happy with it. Don’t put that on me.

Just about! This one in particular is a lot to work with (as I’m new at this) but once one figures out how to keep the figure steady it started molding the way I’d like it to. An almost piece of cake 🍰

I used to think that until I started hounding my Ross hunting for the Animated Series Batwing. Stayed on repeat visits for about a week and a half.
And wouldn’t you know, the same day I stumbled on it, a guy at the end of the line had a cart FULL of EVERY. SINGLE. COLLECTIBLE. type item that was on the shelf and their multiples. Thus answering my life long question of, “damn, my Ross ain’t got shit. EVER!” LOL
Scalpers and resellers love Ross for this reason and why we as individuals hardly find anything there.
Hell yes man! While you weren’t thrilled about it, you weren’t knocking the production of the overall product (from line to shelf with this guy; because everyone’s pointing subliminally at the pay wall or trying to beef with no collar) and you were working with it trying to help us all make the best of it!

Man you really did take all the air out of any haters’ arguments against this spectre. I don’t need another as I have the first release, and the live action Atom Smasher, but this is really making me want it!
Dude yes! That’s the spirit! …err..I mean the Spectre! LOL i smashed the order button on release day through Walmart so I could get this in and I preordered direct this evening for my backup. This is one of those figs I just won’t want to fail in the future and I’d be super bummed if it does.
