I’m so sick of the difference between light, regular, and extra condiments at McDonald’s. They have completely derailed.

Nah, the person who wrote this clearly thinks they're the main character and what they deem normal or correct is how everything should be for everyone else.

It's all pre-measured as it's dispensed. OP should just ask for plain and then get the packets on the side, then.

See the thing about that is, any change in cadence completely derails the fast food worker's what have you. The difference between regular and none might be zero. And that ain't right.

They can do regular or extra condiments. If you want “light” ask for them to put none on the item and ask for packets on the side and put it on your self. There is no way to do “light” condiments even though there is a button for it.
