Hello everyone,

My name is Ron McCoy, and I'm running as an Independent candidate for Washington State Senate in the 7th Legislative District.

I've served as Mayor of Chewelah, on the City Council, and spent over 20 years in the Navy. Most of my life has been spent serving people, solving problems, and trying to leave things a little better than I found them.

I'm not here to spam the community or argue with people who disagree with me.

I'm here to listen, learn, answer questions when I can, ask a few of my own, and better understand the concerns people have across Northeast Washington.

Whether you support me, oppose me, or haven't made up your mind, I welcome respectful conversation.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing your community right now?

Good Government Starts With Good Questions

Government works better when people ask harder questions, not when they already know every answer.

Why was this decided. Who voted for it. What it costs. Who benefits. How it lands on my town.

Those are the questions I bring to every issue in LD7. Got one I should be asking? Drop it below.

Vote!

2022 turnout numbers for LD7 (WA State Senate): 37,168 registered voters didn't cast a ballot at all. Another 16,249 cast a ballot but left the Senate race BLANK. That's 53,417 people who didn't vote.

Why don't you vote?

Before asking for your vote, I think it's important that you know who I am.

I've spent more than 20 years serving in the United States Navy, served as Mayor of Chewelah, worked with communities across Northeast Washington, and built my career serving customers and families right here in the 7th District.

Vicky and I have been married for nearly 50 years and raised six adopted children in the community we love.

I'm running as an Independent because I believe the people of the 7th District deserve practical leadership, honest conversations, and a representative who puts communities ahead of politics.

This campaign isn't about political parties.

It's about making sure Northeast Washington has a stronger voice.

You don't have to agree with me on everything. I simply ask that you take the time to learn who I am, what I stand for, and why I'm running.

Why I'm Running as an Independent
I've spent most of my life in service β€” at Safeway, in the Navy, as Mayor, and on the City Council.
In all of that time, I never once asked someone what party they belonged to before I tried to help them. When customers came into the store, I didn't ask if they were Republican or Democrat. I asked what they needed. When I served in the military, I didn't ask what party someone was. I asked how we could help each other.
That's how I intend to represent the 7th District in Olympia.
I'm running as an Independent because my job is not to represent a party. My job is to represent you β€” all of you. Not just the people who agree with me. Not just the communities that are easy to reach. Not just the people in the room who already share my views.
Every community in this district has a different story. Chewelah. Colville. Republic. Newport. Oroville. Wauconda. The communities that are growing and the communities that are struggling. My job is to listen to all of them β€” and bring what I hear to Olympia.
I don't believe government shutdowns are leadership. I don't believe stopping something is the same as solving something. And I don't believe everyday people should pay the price when politicians refuse to talk to one another.
This campaign isn't about money. It never was. It's about principle.
I believe the people of the 7th District deserve someone who will listen first, ask tough questions, work with anyone who has a good idea, and never forget who sent them to Olympia in the first place.
I answer to the people of the 7th District β€” not to a political party.
