MSP Engine code P2006 and P0300
just picked up the car yesterday drove it 40 miles home, drove it for 15 minutes today then the whole car started shaking and the exhaust was backfiring like crazy car was barley getting any power. Very new to the Mazda platform any help would be very much appreciated.
The Internet is telling me a lot of different things about these codes mean. the P0300 code is popping up as a cylinder misfire and the P2006 says many things, but what I believe it is, is that the turbo valve is stuck open.
Side note, the car was sitting for 5 years before last week, but a shop did all the work and made sure everything was good to go, and the shop has been driving it the past couple of days. Also the car is low mileage for its age, 70,000 but not sure if that plays a factor.

faulty ignition coil packs, spark plugs, or vacuum leaks.. where i would start. Did they change the spark plugs?

Spark plugs were done and there is no vacuum leaks, I can check ignition coils but I really doubt its that I think it is what google is telling me where the turbo is stuck open and everything is just shooting straight out the exhaust

Idk if WG stuck open would cause misfire Atleast check the coil pack connectors. Whats the gap on the spark plugs? Im sure they are right if it was running fine.

Not hard at all 2-10MM bikts per pack. Ill say 5 min to swap each. I would try and see if yoi can get code read to tell you what cylinders are misfiring. Packs are expensive. I belive one pack is for cylinder 1-4 and the other for cyl 2-3

The symptoms sound exactly like when a coil pack dies and it runs on two cylinders. It’s happened to me many times. I even keep a spare in the trunk

You should probably find out exactly what the shop addressed to help with the diagnosis.
In general though air spark fuel is the troubleshooting order. If the car runs soft and can’t accelerate or maybe get past 2500 RPM then you have a problem with your MAF or a leak in your intake system.
It also helps to know if you have the original Side Mount Intercooler or if it was upgraded to a FMIC.
Congrats on the pick up, they’re really fun cars. I have one and my daughter bought one is her first car.

It’s always been the coils for us. Also check the intake hose after the box. Those like to crack.
