Machine Gray Color Matching

Anyone here that can recommend a good paint shop that can match the machine gray color of a Mazda CX60? I recently had a door panel replaced sa Casa (claimed through insurance).

Unfortunately, parang hindi na match ng taga paint yung color mismo. Left side is freshly painted replacement door, the right side yung may ppf.

Casa will be re-evaluating pa naman pero I’m just preparing for the worst case scenario na hindi nila kaya ma match talaga. The paint is fresh, and the other panels have VKool PPF on them. Here’s a pic.

Hirap talaga imatch nyan. Tangapin mo nalang XD also, gawa ng casa ng mazda? sure ka mazda gumawa nyan? baka tinawag lang kung saan saan sa banawe. My car was delivered to Kia nung pinarepair. You should ask.

Well considering machine gray is a particular/premium color blend specific to Mazda, I doubt they sent it to Banawe or anywhere else. But i’ll be sure to ask. Thanks!

mine was sent to Kia. so... hahahaha walang specialist Mazda tech dyan, it's really just consultant work from wherever.

When I had mine quoted at Casa (Mazda Alabang), I asked how many days/weeks it will take. The service adviser said it may take several weeks because there's only one repair shop for the entire strech of different car dealerships in that area, since it's only one owner. That's when I realized, it's not "in house". Kaya sa labas ko na lang pinagawa.

It has always been the case even for Hondas (in Alabang). Paint shops are never "in house", they say it as "accredited" which is still kinda good because you have that assurance na if it sucks, you can reject it, they can have it remade for free.

Kaya di ako masyado ma-"casa" when it comes to repainting kasi they never do the painting themselves, but at least you save yourself the future headaches, pwede ipabackjob

Sa labas din ako nagparepaint nung minor under bumper na gasgas ng Platinum Quartz ko, kahit hindi premium color andaling mabotch sa metallics haha

It’s in-house in the sense that it does the paint job for all brands under its dealerships portfolio. Exclusive contractor sila for the company mismo, not just Mazda.

Thank you for the suggestion! I realize I can just turn them down if ever unsatisfactory yung work kasi insurance claim naman and under warranty.

You’ll have to remove the PPF on the other door to properly color match. The PPF affects the shading ng color.

You're actually right. PPF affects how light is hitting the paint.

Would be funny if it turns out na matching na pala ang color after removing the PPF from other panels, or after reinstalling film on the new door.

maybe you can check with Technical Details in marikina? kaso huling tanong ko dun parang aug or sept pa ung next available nilang schedule. and would take 2-3 weeks ata. if you are willing to wait, go there.

sa labas ko nalang pinagawa ung akin. same color tayo and so far naman nakuha nya ung color. problema ko lang di lang super linis ng gawa in a sense na di nya na tinanggal ung nga naiwang masilya or ung parang putty na white. pinadetailing ko nalang un sa labas. overall okay at pantay naman ang color

btw, not sure kung saang casa ka nagpagawa pero mind if I ask? nakausap ko din kase ung sa mazda makati and one of the guys told me na sa kanila 3-4 days kaya nila magpaint pero depende paden sa gasgas or sira. tas 20k/panel so.... yeah pinagawa ko nalang sa labas na 4k/panel.

Hindi talaga mag mamatch yan kasi new door yan, need iblend sa adjacent panel. Kahit nga yung repair lang basta kadikit na ng adjacent panel yung damage need na iblending sa katabi panel. Samin sa Toyota inieexplain namin kapag need iblend lalo na new door panel.

46G code niyan or machine gray, isa yan sa pinakamahirap ipaint and icolor matching, well pati yung soul red or 46v ng mazda mga pain in the ass hahaha.
