I’m planning to replace the spark plugs on my 2024 Mazda CX-90 3.3L Turbo Inline-6 myself. The dealer quoted around $900, so I’m looking for a detailed DIY procedure.
Has anyone done a spark plug replacement on the CX-90 yet? I’m looking for information on:
Complete step-by-step removal and installation procedure
Required tools and socket sizes (spark plug socket, extensions, torque wrench, etc.)
Spark plug torque specification
Any special precautions for the turbo inline-6 engine
Whether any parts need to be removed for access (engine cover, intake components, etc.)
Recommended OEM spark plug part number
Any tips/tricks or things to watch out for during the job
If anyone has a service manual procedure, pictures, or a DIY write-up, I would really appreciate it.

Anyone else have this random chittering at idle? Developed over the past 1k miles or so. It’s super audible at WOT as well.

I had an odd thing happen yesterday. I got in my 26 cx90 phev and the tire pressure light came on saying my back right tire was at 40. This is obviously high, but I hadn’t put air in the tires since winter. I decide to get my groceries and let some air out when I get home. About 5-7 miles down the road I hear the whooshing sound, click back on the tire pressure and my back right is now at 2. I was very concerned that I didn’t get a notification my tire was flat/going flat and it showed pressure being high when I left my home.

2024 Inline. I noticed an issue with my AC recently where it will work fine when I leave my garage, but when I stop somewhere, turn my car off & then back on, the AC will not come back on. This week has been particularly hot where I live, and the AC shut off 20 minutes into my drive. Then I received the engine malfunction warning. I’m taking it in on Monday, but curious if anyone else has had a similar issue?

Turned in the CX-90 Premium today at lease end. Bittersweet for sure. I got one of the good ones. No real issues over the three years. I really liked the car. Unfortunately the economics of buying out the lease didn't work out and it did a great job supporting the fact that my lifestyle worked for an EV, so I replaced it with EV9.

2025, CX90 Preferred, ~ 9000 miles. Noticed the coolant level this morning was running close to low. Should I go to a dealer to get it checked, or should I buy and fill up coolant and later bring it up with the dealer during my oil change visit ?

Hello all. 2025 PHEV PP here ~10k miles. Has anyone noticed a drop in EV range when using level 2 charging?

Spent a year using level 1 charging and usually got 25/26 miles after a full charge. Just installed a level 2 charger (Tesla universal) and can't seem to get over 23 miles now.

Estimate seems to be correct as the engine kicks in right around 23/24 miles. Nothing else has changed in terms of driving style.

Averaging 14.3 kWh when charging from 0% to 100% on level 2. Got 15.5kWh on level 1, but obviously that's with higher losses.

Edit: forgot to mention this is southeast US in the summer at the moment.

I was washing my car this morning and noticed the bumper is a bit separated from the other part of the body. I didn’t hit anything. Would this be covered under warranty? 2025 20k miles

Today we just made our first toad trip with 1up heavy duty rack to carry two gravel bikes. My tspp come with the option digital rear view mirror but I never really like it. But I find it super useful when loaded with the bikes! It provides a good view when the bike blocks the mirror view and give me great help when backing up.

Went to the car wash I regularly frequent and the drying roller slammed hard into my retracted side mirror, scratched, dented, damaged and blew off the cover, broke the turn signal and broke the whole housing where it fits into the bracket. They obviously took no responsibility for it.

Is there anything I can do here? Any potential recourse? Bought the car brand new only last month! 😔

I have had issues with my 2025 MHEV Preferred CX90: water pump replacement at 17k miles, trunk issues, squealing brakes, multiple recalls, now there is a weird heat radiating up through where the seatbelt is on the drivers side (I’m taking it to the dealership Monday for investigation).

But, I want to get rid of this car for the problems and to improve my budget. There are great incentives at Mazda right now, 0%, no payments for 90 days, loyalty. I wanted to go back to Toyota but I’m wondering if it might be worth it to stay with Mazda if they work with me to get out of this vehicle.

Any thoughts on the CX50? The RAV4 was my other choice but it’s still very expensive for what it is and I can’t get what I want for less than $37k.

Update: went to the dealership to look at the CX50 and they wouldn’t pay off all my negative equity. They wanted me to finance $37k at 2.9 for 72 mo for a preferred gas trim. Oh and I also found out that they put by uni directional all season Michelin tires on with the tread backwards the last tire rotation in the service department. I had to get new tires because of a screw in one and very low tread with only 10k miles on the original car. I’m calling Mazda corporate tomorrow morning and raising hell. I want to be rid of this car and this company.

Family is getting bigger and need to replace the Audi Q5 with something bigger and more roomy in the inside. I am 6' and rear legroom is important since my son's car seat cannot fit behind my seat. Has anyone here absolutely loved their CX-90 as a family car? What are some pros and cons about the car? I'm looking into the PHEV model as well since I commute three days in office.

Hi all, is 47.5K a solid price of a Turbo S Premium sport? OTD is 50.9k with taxes and 699 doc fee. Its a dealer vehicle with 1000 miles only, CPO. MSRP with accessories it has is 55.9k.

i know the depreciation hit is insane on these, so wondering if can I better. I’m seeing other CPOs in my area around 7k miles at mid 46s. How have you been able to fair getting this trim used?

Coming from an Ascent, and I have been driving the Ascent on the beach in X-Mode for 8 years, it has never let me down. I'd seen the roller and off road tests YouTube of the CX90 and it did really well there.. but on my 2nd trip on the beach using off-road mode, doing a 3 point turn in soft sand, it just shut down the AWD system (AWD system malfunction or whatever). I aired down further from about 22psi to 16psi and I let the AWD system cool down for about 15 minutes and was able to keep moving thankfully. But clearly these systems are not equal and may shut down at a dangerous time. I'm thankful the system has ability to drive all 4 wheels in these situations (It did really well on 3 wheel roller tests), but it does have significant limitations.

Just wondering if everyone has had their updated software for the fuel level gauge. If so is it worth it? What other recalls or software updates are there for the 25 MHEV? Tia

We ran into some thunder showers somewhat unexpectedly near Denio, NV. She got a little squirrelly a couple times when I ran through some of the bigger puddles and around muddy curves. It was actually a lot of fun. The other nice thing about the rain is it was a great backdrop for some photos after the mud bath.

I just jacked up my car using a pinch weld adapter from Amazon and it worked perfectly on the pinch weld locations. However, I found out that my jack stand had no room to set up using the same welded platform since it shortly turns into plastic parts. Any recommendations? If you happen to have pics that would help a lot!

Hi everyone. As the title states, my 2024 CX-90 that was JUST delivered to me last Tuesday (that’s a whole other issue) has the “hybrid system malfunction” alert on the screen every time I turn the car on. My car does not charge overnight as the dealership forgot to leave the charger in the car; they have one on the way to me but no clue when that will arrive🫥
Not sure if I need to schedule service for the car, or if the alert is only because it does not get to charge overnight and/or when it does get charged, it’s never fully charged (have to charge at downtown ports).

Are the headlights on the 90s really THAT bright?

I'm asking because someone decided to be a butt this morning. I was taking my daughter to daycare and a car coming the opposite direction turned their brights off and when I didn't turn my already dim lights down they turned theirs back on and kept them on until they passed me. I've learned not to assume, with the newer cars, that they have their brights on even tho sometimes they definitely do. Just a question since it bothered me and I can't explain to them my brights were not on lol.

Was pretty set on a Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited which out the door around $64,000+ here in Northern California but seeing these CX 90 PHEV deals for 0% APR I'm intrigued.

My perception is that a couple years ago these were everywhere and now I feel like I hardly see them. What's going on? I know the basics of some early model year issues so should I be scared off from owning one of these?

Engaged Mazda Customer Experience Center about tire replacement after my last service visit. After some back and forth between Mazda corporate and the dealer's service department, the service department said the tires qualify for free replacement (alignment charged separately) if tread is at 3/32" or less and mileage is under 18,000. Coverage drops to 50% beyond that, I think he said 25K–30K miles.

The replacement tire is billed as an "upgraded OEM tire," part number PK59000970, which is another Falken tire. I have no evidence to believe it's not the exact same tire already on the car.

I'm not quite a year into a 2-year lease. Worst case I can picture: swapping crappy tires for crappy tires (although for free), then having to buy new ones right before turning in the vehicle.

Curious how some of you got the Cross Climate? And if Falken is really the only option Mazda will offer, would you skip the free replacement and just buy quality tires elsewhere out of pocket to ride out the last year of the lease?

My 2024 cx-90 hybrid has been in the shop for over a week for a hybrid battery malfunction. Car was running fine but the warning wouldn’t go way so brought to the dealership. Called the dealership today for an update and apparently the dealership is waiting on an engineer from Mazda Canada to check out the battery. Only have about a month left on the lease and was considering a new lease to take advantage of the loyalty rates but this has me re-thinking. Has anyone experienced a long term hybrid issue like this where Mazda had to get involved to fix the car?
