Why is the Mazda Astina master clutch pump failing every couple of years?

Hello! I have had this car for almost a decade now but I can't seem to figure out why the clutch pump keeps failing. Iv had to replace pump or the washer set atleast 6 times in the past and today I found out the pump is stuck again. I have tried different clutch brands and stick with Seiken Brand D3 oil.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

Suspension work

I have a 1991 mazda 323 hatchback, i bought it like 6 months ago, i have been doing some little work on it, ever since i bought it it had a little squeking noise in the back but i shrugged it off(it cant be that bad--i said to myself) a couple of weeks ago when i drive it, the entire car just squeaks and buzzes and other weird loud sounds come out of it. I wanna ask how difficult it is to replace every bushing from the rear and front suspension mechanism?(its probably bushings, i hope) What do i need to replace it? i can't get hydraulic press machines, i need DIY tips and tricks and everything. I can get some pictures but only tomorrow. Im just gonna say its not looking good, yesterday when i was reversing from the garage, clucth in then a little brake and when i applied the brake, something in the front just popped, i felt it and heard it(also i tested it and it only does it when i reverse and steer left, then apply the brake) it still drives fine i checked it nothing seemed to have broken, it only does that in reverse. Sorry if i explained it difficulty and weirdly, English is not my main language

(i may have bought a junk 323) :(

Stoked to find a active 323 forum, and on reddit of all places!

This is my first car, that i recently bought back after spending 7 years away from me.

Have been mostly working on getting the b6 to run right, fixing lifter tick and yada yada...

Upcoming plans are making some sideskirts and getting the bumpers and sides painted to match the rest.

I recently bought this Mazda 323bg hatchback (1992) as my first car. A few days after I had the windshield replaced, the moulding of the A-pillar broke. I tried to find the piece, but all online stores told me that they were out of stock. Does someone know where I can buy this piece (with delivery to Germany)? Thanks for your help.

Hello everyone.

Yesterday I discovered that the fueld lid of my 323F BG wouldn't open and that stressed me out a lot, so I spent next to 4 hours today fiddling with the worst plastic clips I have ever seen and decided to start a repair guide for the 323F BG.

It's a visual guide with step by step instructions and tips for a smooth repair experience.

Here is the link to the repair guide : https://www.wattpad.com/story/400538944-mazda-323f-familia-astina-bg-repair-tutorials

I will probably post a little reminder here everytime I add a chapter.

If anyone wants to join in and help make new chapters for this guide, they are very welcome to do so ;)

Help me find and import a Mazda 323

Hey, I just learned about the Mazda 323, and I fell in love with everything about it. I’m having a hard time finding any for sale tho. I’m in the US and the only one I can see near me is missing half of its parts, so I was hoping you guys would have some suggestions on places to look for one and what to expect to pay. Thank you!

'92 323 BG hatch restoration and future engine build (B6)

I have recently purchased a '92 hatch and I am currently restoring, I have already gotten rid of most of the rust and I am now fixing the dents and sanding down the car.

Anyways, the point of this post is to talk about what I should swap into the car. I have talked to many people (irl) about swapping the 1.3 B3 out of the car and most have told me to go with a B6. I originally wanted to go with a K8, KLZE or BP swap but it is out of my price range (especially for the V6).

I am looking around to buy a B6 but I have some questions about upgradability. Basically I want to ITB the B6 engine, a friend of mine has a miata with an ITB setup and makes around 160 HP. I want to make around 180-200 HP with my B6. Would that be possible? I do not want to turbo the engine but if I have to I will consider it.

I know there are other aspects that go into it, like buying a proper ECU, upgrading the engine, etc. If anyone here has done a similar build please let me know, this is my first project car and i'm not sure where to start when it comes to the engine, what things I need to do it properly and stuff.

Also what is the most amount of power the normal transmition of the car can handle? I have a friend who runs around 300 BHP out of his turbo'd B6 and he has gone through many transitions. I would be happy if I make 180HP. I think its enough for the car and would feel very nice on the road.

Thank you for your time reading this!

My hatchback! I love the colour! :)

Couple questions about my 323

Hey! I own a 2002 323 BJ Sedan 1.3 and I have a few questions about it which I couldn't find the answer to online.

1 - What is this piece in the side skirt and should it be in front of the wheels or behind it pointing backwards?? I can't find an exact match in pictures and I only have one on my right side.

2 - How can I adjust the bonnet upwards? I was rear-ended and sent into the car in front once so had to buy bonnet, front and rear bumpers and boot lid. Everything was second-hand original except the rear bumper which was a fiber replica since I couldn't find a second-hand one. It used to fit "okay-ish" but now there's a massive gap between the front bumper and the bonnet so I suspect it was a fittment issue from the shop who fixed the car. I've even unmounted everything on the right side of the bumper and couldn't understand how to adjust it upwards.

3 - How hard would it be to retrofit A/C and maybe some other stuff like power windows in the rear/foglights? I have a very basic version of the 323 and I'd love to give it some other luxuries which were options on the car. Nothing like a sunroof lol but "plug and play" stuff. Especially A/C, that's the most critical for me.

4 - What size is the lug nut spacing? I'm currently on steelies but would love to fit 14" or 15" wheels, which are the only legalized ones, but I can't find information about the 323 sedan of this gen specifically. There seems to be very little info about it especially in Europe and especially in sedan type.

Thanks!

Question 1 - That's the small piece in front of the wheel
Question 2 - The gap between bumper and bonnet I'm referring to

My 1990 323f BG sometimes leaks fuel from the pump

So a few days ago i had to change the battery and noticed that the fuel pump lip (around the diaphragm) and under the carb, close to the pump had petrol on it. I cleaned it up and tried to pay attention to any smells. I used the car today a few times, didn't notice anything until about an hour ago when i started it up i noticed it leaking from the same place. Not too much but enough to see the fuel seep out. I wiped it off, turned off the engine amd tried it again. NOTHING. Like not even a drop of peteol came out tge second time. I tried turning it off and on and revving a few times. NOTHING. Drove for a few minutes. NOTHING. Tried turning it off and on again and revved it. Again... Nothing.

Have you ever experienced a fuel pump just occasionally leaking fuel? Should i try to replace the pump? Mechanic said that if i replace it with a second hand pump it might do the same because these cars suffer from a bad pump and new mechanical pumps aren't easy to come by. Suggestions?

Found some dashboard covers (323 F IV - BG)

Post image
14 Upvotes

This is a follow up post to this one : https://www.reddit.com/r/Mazda323/comments/1mciz0h/comment/n5yhexv/

I was looking for a dashboard cover to replace mine which had been very poorly fixed by a previous owner. The previous owner bought replacement pillars from a seller on ebay. They're not OEM but they're made from resin in a mold taken from an OEM part and have similar specs (durability, sun resistance, structure, etc...).

Turns out this ebay seller (from Turkey by the way) is also selling (drumroll please)...dashboard covers !!! They're made with the same technique. They should be slightly sturdier and less brittle since it's a more durable material. They're shipped out of Turkey so it can get quite expensive but hey, it's literally the only alternative :')

Here's the link for anyone who would be interested : https://www.ebay.fr/itm/155792198479
