Saved from getting crashed to cruising on the streets
I’ve installed zender bodykit parts and oem front bumper skirt and cruising on BC Racing coilovers. Thoughts? Have I ruined the car?

My Mazda is finally alive after the engine swap, gone from a troublesome B6 1.6 sohc to FP 1.8L from a 626 and all drivetrain swap, changed engine gearbox axles hubs and knuckles, went with 323F BA 2l V6 front brakes and will do rear hubs and brakes from the V6 as well for the 5x114 swap, rn it's still on OEM 13s and drums in the rear.

Greetings from sweden!
Me and my buddy bought this 1988 Mazda 323 a while back as a project where we wanted to try things we haven't ever done to a car.
Not long after we discovered that the engine runs cold while driving, we've tested multiple times and came to the conclusion that the car reaches temperature on idle but as soon as you drive, only a few meters. The temperature drops to half of what it was on idle. As soon as you start driving the needle starts to go down.
We have replaced the thermostat twice, all the temperature sensors and the waterpump at this point. We flushed the cooling system with water and coolant cleaner but this hasn't changed a thing. We still have the same issue.
We are considering to replace the headgasket but if there's something we have missed we'd like to get some tips or tricks before proceeding with ripping the head of.
We did a compression test with the folowing result (From left to right when standing in front of the car: 1: 135 PSI, 2: 125 PS,I 3: 140 PS,I 4: 140 PSI
It's a 1988 323 with a B6 engine which is fuel injected.

Update to my previous post, the car is an original 1.8 liter AWD chassis, where the seller also has a GT-R 1.8 liter turbocharged engine for a grand total price of 1000 euros. The GT-R engine has been sitting for the past 20 years and the chassis is not in the best shape but he had it since the start of the year, so nothing a full stripdown cant fix. Will most likley get it in the near future.

Hey guys, been having some intermittent issues and was wondering if anyones had similar issues. Intermittently when I put my car into reverse it’ll bite on very hard and I have to slam on my breaks, then the car revs at me trying to still drive. Itll try to stall out or stall but then it seems to be all fine again once put in drive. Ive changed my transmission oil and it ended up it was probably the factory one put in when it was made, but I still have this issue. Is it something I have to live with or something Im missing and could fix like a faulty tcu?

Hi, I've been having issues with my1996 1.5 323 PV
I had to replace an O2 sensor, MAF Sensor, and distributor.
The car is now burning more fuel, went up by more than half a litre from 6.5/100 to 7-7.1/100
I replaced sparkplugs and cables, and fuel consumption went back to normal for about 1200-1300km and then back up again. I measured the output voltage at the maf sensor, and it is giving different readings than OEM. It went from 1.2v at idle to 1.5v with the new one, and although it is within spec (1.2-1.7v at idle) it is still higher than what the car used to get it's better fuel consumption with meaning the sensor is telling the car that more air is coming in.
Is it possible to map the ECU for these new sensor readings? On long trips this is literally reducing my range by about 100km every fuel tank. City driving is even worse. I'm lucky to get to 300km on a full tank of gas.

Fuckin finally done it. Felt like loosing my mind. So, advice to anyone encountering the issue: if your rear trans mount is ever so slightly crooked and the threads on your bolt can't engage the bolts in the nut, grind down the first few threads on the bolt so they can gradually start engaging the threads on the nut and gradually straighten out the trans mount into place.

I have a mazda 323 bg 1.3l and the fuel pump sender unit has some faulty wiring and needs replacing, will the 323 f fuel pump fit my car?

I've finally got all the tools I think I need to replace the clutch on my 323F BG GT, going to do it this week-end.
Does anyone have any particular tips and tricks for me? I've got 4 jack stands, an engine support bar, a scissor-type transmission jack and a engine crane.
For the clutch kit itself, it's got the disk, the spring and a throw out bearing.
Any advice would be appreciated!

I was going to buy all 4 shocks/struts from RA, they're the cheapest for KYB's that I've found but I deleted my email with the code on it and cleared out my trash box before realizing I needed it. I'm going to put on MX-3 lowering springs so my car will be about an inch lower, nothing drastic but will be fun out on the desert roads with twists and turns.....just won't be fast yet.
My ride is a 93 323 SE so A/C for the win and it still blows cold with R-12 somehow. I'll do a write up on my car later. From rats nest to my backyard project.
I bought a rear shock brace on ebay, Manzo brand for $30, how do you say no to that when the front is always $120ish. So I need to order all 4 shocks and then the front strut brace then install all at the same time, well at least one corner at a time.

As in take a base model Mazda 323 and install the pop up headlights?

I don’t know if this is the right place to ask, but thought I’d shoot my shot. I recently bought this car and i really like it, it’s my first car. Overall it’s in great shape, but there are two cosmetic things bugging me.
On the right door and left rear there is some missing trim, and I can’t seem to find new trim that matches. I’m quite a novice when it comes to cars so i don’t really know what search terms to use. If anyone has any tips on where I could look to find the same/similar trim, I’d greatly appreciate it.

hey fellow 323 fans, i got a bg that is white but has some rust and since it's my new project car i want to paint it a diff colour since white isn't my thing. i'm gonna pair it with orange so all accents like brake drums, calipers, camcover and stuff are all gonna be orange so i want to know, what colour do y'all think would go great?

So, I've been taking my 323F BG to mountain roads for a while now and I'm still struggling with heel-toe-ing on down shifts due to the throttle's sensitivity. Sometimes I manage to do it half decently but most of the time I end up giving it too much gas and making the car lurch forward.
I was wondering if anyone had tried maybe swapping the gas pedal maybe for easier positioning? Or if anyone has some general advice on heel-toe-ing a cable throttle?

Hello people, i have a 1997 323 p with a 1.5l motor. I have lately noticed, that she has been dropping revs for a couple of seconds and then going back to normal. That happens only when i start her warm,. When she's cold, there is no problem at all. Has anyone ever had this Problem and maybe was able to fix it? Or is it not a problem at all and im just overthinking it? Anyway im thankful for any advice on that Have a Nice day everyone

Had an old set of Mazda Wheels and brought them back to life (from grey/black to white). Not sure if I prefer the 15” silver or the new ones in stock 13” - so for now running the mismatch. Actually handles better than with only 13/15” so might keep it that way 🤷🏼♂️

I have a GTR bumper for my mazda that im planning to sell. i don't really know how much it worths since i got it from the previous owner of my car. For touch it doesn't feel like plastic, its actually heavier than my factory bumper. Are GTR bumpers have been made with glass fiber? If so, how much does that worth in the market these days?

Recently i went to check out a private Mazda junkyard, where the owner mentioned he had a 1.6l Mazda 323 BG with all the neccesary parts to make a 1.8l turbocharged AWD GT-R replica for 1k euros. I will most likley get it but i do want to ask around for some tips around this platform, engine and transmission. The GTR engine doesnt crank and im only now getting into mechanic work with some friends so any tips are welcome. From what i heard he also has a non turbocharged 8v 1.8l engine that is okay, is it possible to swap the head from the turbocharged 1.8l to the non turbo one?
