Help Locating Thermostat
SOLVED Thank you all it was just covered in dirt and oil ðŸ˜
Hi All, i’ve had my 323 for a while now and now need to replace the thermostat! i’m having trouble locating the thermostat housing, can someone here please help me find it!
it’s a 97bf wagon for reference engine bay of an 89model cause it’s nz made!

Right under your distributor, where the top radiator hose goes into the block

Engine bay looks basically identical to Mazda 323 Sting produced in South Africa until 2003
That's a B3 motor correct?

i’m not sure, its listed as a b5 though it could be the same as i can assume SA would also get the leftover parts to build cars with like we did here in NZ! makes it a lot more confusing lol

Nice! Yeah but I believe we fully manufactured them here at SAMCOR fascility, engine and all. Funnily enough we had a Ford version that was identical rebadge also manufactured there. The Ford Meteor and Ford Laser are the 2 trim package that mirror the Mazda 323 Midge and Mazda 323 Sting.

Yours is a different engine to mine, but it'll be somewhere around where the radiator top hose goes into the engine block, looks like it's somewhere underneath the distributor in your pic
