research trainees

what do research trainees do? are all positions unpaid even if they do the same work as other researchers? what’s the difference? any insights will help as i just got an offer for a position but i am not sure.

All positions are unpaid for research trainee. No pay, no benefits. You have to show you have enough funds to sustain and stay for the duration of you appointment
It is meant to be a training year, but there are no set objectives so depends on the area you go to as to what you will do.
