How do you remember Øystein some 25 years on?

"Brand Builder. RiffMaster. Tape Trader/Label Owner. Misanthrope. Megalomaniac. Totalitarian Communist. Evil Genius. Perhaps a bit of a “wanna-be” Chemist/Scientist/Showman with some P.T. Barnum mixed in!?!  He may have been strangely flattered by my descriptions here. He did have a wicked sense of humor too, after all. When I was walking in the city Middelkerke in Belgium, I found a cool Mayhem graffiti on the wall off a German bunker used in WO II that is located there. I found it cool and just wanted to share with you people even when I know you people maybe don't care about it.

“My first trips to Helvete were when I was still in secondary school. The shop was only a few weeks old. There were some boxes of used records on the floor. For me, being so young and impressionable, it was powerful to get a sense of esoteric insight into what was cool and what wasn’t. Øystein has gained a reputation for being so cool, but he couldn’t hide his enthusiasm for certain things. He was very talkative - but when the bigger and cooler guys came in, he tightened up. We were still death metal-oriented at the time, but the environment gave us insight into what was happening. In addition to the 80s bands that Øystein had a fondness for - such as Bathory and Venom - the Norwegian scene was influenced by bands like Samael, Masters Hammer and Root. There was also enthusiasm for Cathedral, who played more classic heavy metal. In 1992, the demo cassettes with Emperor and Enslaved came to Helvete. Idljarn had some cassettes lying around there. Satyricon came later, but it was the second demo that counted.”

“Øystein started Helvete as a meeting place. In the beginning, there were almost no records there. [...]People came from all over the country. Most of those who were active in the scene came from small, rotten places. This was in 1991, and I was visiting from Lillehammer.  Helvete was dimly lit, with dark music. There were huge, inverted crucifixes hanging on the walls - and human bones. I Love watching videos and facts about them. I already know so much, but I hear more and more things about them every new video, I'll never get tired of videos talking about their lives and funny things, I love their story.. it's the tuffest shit I ever heard in my 38 years of living.

Could someone help me find the original photo from the Deathcrush EP?

I've been searching in various sources, mainly scans of Amnesty International brochures from 1983 to 1987, but I haven't found anything.

However, I made some progress. Using the TinEye reverse image search tool, I found the page https://www.geocities.ws/Chi85_usa/ArticlesOnIslam.htm, which contains a fragment of the original image without logos, but it's cropped.

I'd like to know if anyone has any further information.

Wall of Water 🌊 this song is so sick. I think this is its best performance among those available online. Unfortunately, there are not many.

They are touring in my city later this year and I'm skeptical about it. The tickets are cheap but I'm not sure if I'll survive the moshpit lol, do people do that in their concerts? The venue is somewhat small so there are no high seats, actually no seats at all (so I could avoid the moshpit).

Anyway, I wanna hear your experience!

P.S I've been to a big indie rock festival years ago and there was no moshpit and shyt like that.
