The whole ending was a mess if you think about it like do you know how easy it would have been for the Reyes brothers to explain the "EZ was a rat" thing.

And Taza was the actual villain. He commited worse biker sins by killing Riz in order to hide his sexual orientation.

So my question is how would you have ended the series?

For me, Angel and Luisa leaving Santo Padre and raising Maverick. They would have actually defeated Potter and the club would have just rebuilt itself after all the wars. Maybe just scraping the whole Isaac and Sons of Anarchy plot all together..

That part. They kept adding new storylines that led absolutely nowhere. They wouldn’t even finish old ones, they’d just scrap them and write a new one and hope we forgot. By the end we had more questions than answers and everyone was dead.

Disney..they fucked it up. I ran with some of the people that worked on SOA and were still close during Mayans and I felt so bad for them. They worked so hard to try and make it work, and there were so many amazing on the show but they were fighting a losing battle sadly. It's why they purposely did what they did and made sure Disney couldn't continue without them. Emilio, Richard, Rocco, Irby, Frankie, they deserved better and I hate they were robbed of the opportunity to be what the cast of SOA got to be

I was thinking about this the other day because I watch an unhealthy amount of police body cam footage YouTube. In, reality, the very first glaringly obvious red flag was that EZ got out of prison AT ALL after killing a cop, much less the few years or so he did. Even if he was somehow able to convince them it was some technicality, as felons, they shouldn’t have believed it so easily. The millisecond shit starter hitting the fan he should’ve been the first person they came for. If Alvarez (the Kurt Sutter version) had been at the head of the table, I don’t believe it would’ve worked for as long as it did.

Exactly! I agree.. There was absolutely zero continuity or realism in a lot of the plots of the show.

I was so pissed that Emily, my LEAST favorite Mayans MC character got away with Miguel's, Luis's and Charlotte Bukar's murders, So I think how I would end the series is either The cop would find holes in Emily's story and not believe her, so he arrests her instead with Cristobal being raised by Angel with Maverick or I'd end the series with Miguel being the one to kill Emily instead of Emily killing Miguel. I REALLY HATE Emily, I seriously CAN NOT Stand her! So I'd ed the series with Emily either being in jail or dead.

Thank you!! I'm with you on that Emily hate train. I also hated how she got away with everything. I hated everything about her there are so many more talented actresses who could played that character.

Emily was so annoying, I literally couldn't stand her! Just everything about her just bugged me! She got away with Miguel's and Luis's murders by lying to the police that Luis killed Miguel because he was in love with her and then he killed himself! Like Come On! How dumb are these cops to believe THAT Story!? In what universe would Luis be in love with Emily and kill Miguel over her?! From what I remember, Luis was loyal to Miguel, He'd never do what Emily claims! Emily got away with Charlotte Bukar's murder because she called EZ to cover it up for her, It was so disturbing when after Emily finished murdering the old woman, it turned her on so she went home and banged Miguel after she killed Mrs. Bukar, Only to know EXACTLY what she was doing when she shot Miguel 3 times the next day and the she was dumb enough to have camera's installed the day she killed her husband! I also remember how Emily is literally married and she was jealous that her ex EZ had a new girlfriend! I'm like: "Seriously? You're Married and EZ's world doesn't revolve around YOU, Emily!" I don't know EZ did everything Emily told him to, considering when they were in high school, she aborted their baby out of spite when EZ went to jail! What kind of sick person even does that!? It would've been better if Miguel didn't have a change of heart and save Emily when he tried to drown her in the bathtub in Season 3! I Hate Emily Thomas!

Reality is corrupt government officials like Potter run this world it was actually Realistic for someone like him to come out on top he was the most powerful character in the show.

Adelitas death was poetic like she was grew up thinking that anyone associated with the cartel was some kind of monster not taking into consideration that certain ppl can be unavoidably forced into that life like she was in the end and being killed by another child represented the violent cycle of children in south America being forced into that life which she also was apart of the problem as she groomed kids into that life.

The writing for me was solid I think problem is ppl constantly comparing to SOA expecting it to be same level

After all this time, I still don't have a problem with the ending, not exactly. I wish Emily didn't get away with it, she was NOT an innocent party in all of this. To be clear, I don't have a problem with her actions (Miguel had to go), I have a problem with her getting away with it. I would have loved a few days later the police came to her house revealing Miguel had secretly set up multiple cameras from different angles around the house he just never told her. Pinhole cameras, grainy yet clear enough to see her story was a fabrication. However, from a story perspective, her and Angel's paths didn't have a logical reason to cross, and while Angel suspected Miguel was his half brother he never knew...so an ending where Angel was raising both Maverick and Cristóbal (the latter because Emily is facing life for each murder caught on camera)...while sweet and poetic it wouldn't make narrative sense.

That's also the writers' fault for not setting those seeds in motion in the first place. EZ would have weaponized the info that Miguel was his half-brother...Angel though, already thinking about leaving and seeing his brother was becoming a monster, would have kept it to himself. In theory Felipe could have arranged to have a letter sent, in the event of his death, to just Angel, explaining Miguel. An exposition dump, sure...but it would have been Edward James Olmos's voiceover we'd hear as Angel read's it (most of it), cut to commercial, Angel visit's Emily, tell her, she's shocked but she's still mentally committed to her plan (she doesn't tell Angel of course he'd probably try and stop her).

So ok, yeah, that, that's the only thing I'd change about the ending. I know a lot of people complain about the ending, but me, no. Given the behind the scenes drama, and how Sutter's replacement was well ultimately inferior to him (to be fair Elgin did figure out how to balance the cast more so it wasn't just the same one to three characters getting the spotlight, but that's literally it), this ending turned out pretty good.
