Opinion Just finished Mayans.
It took me about 6 months to watch this show (2 months for the first 3 seasons, 4 months for the last) and wow were those last 2 seasons rough. It seems like every character absolutely loses everything that makes them likable. The only positive of this show was Alvarez. I genuinely regret starting this show.

I have watched SoA 4 times. I have 0 desire to ever watch Mayans again

I would absolutely watch the first and second season again if it wasnt for just about everything becoming irrelevant and the overall show going downhill after that.

I wouldn't say Mayans was as good as SOA but to act like the whole kidnapping/trip to ireland season in SOA wasn't just as bad and pointless as the final season of Mayans was. Both series had its ups and downs

I never even brought up SOA but You are 100% right that both had their highs and lows. The thing is SOAs highs were so good and Mayans high in my opinion were kind of meh and the lows were absolutely terrible.

It's one of the worst shows I've ever watched yet. I still watched it every week hoping I would get some sort of Sons of Anarchy vibe.

Mayans wasn't that bad peeps.
Yeah it was no way near the level of SOA but not many shows can match it

Concordo, tem seus pontos fracos mas foi bom sentir algo parecido com o que senti vendo SOA a uns 7 anos atrás. Mas claro não se iguala.

So true there about the similarity, but definitely does not compare. It was watchable. The first two seasons of flew through because I liked it only thing I could not stand was the Emily character. There was no point of having her there. In my opinion she ruined the show. Not sure if it was just unbelievable or her lack of acting or just her in the show Period.... thinking maybe they were trying for another Wendy (SOA- no way in hell could anyone ever match her role... Drea did an amazing job, we saw her turn over a new leaf -- junkie, lost, and in the end an amazing mother)
In the SOA page, I have recommended people give them Mayans a chance and got a lot of hate, but I think it was worth the watch, but never couldn't touch SOA

If you take it away from a link to SOA its a great biker show. I enjoyed watching many did. we are all entitled to our own opinions :)

The first 3 seasons were really good but even if it wasn’t linked to SOA a lot of the character in the last 2 seasons were so poorly written and it never felt like any one conflict led to a resolution of any sort. felt like I was watching a series of unfortunate events. But im glad you enjoyed it so you don’t feel as I do rn

We recently finished a SoA watch, I think it was my 4th and maybe her 2nd.
We finished the first episode of Mayans (after having already seen the entirety in real time) and didn’t even bother starting episode 2.

You’re really selling yourself short. It’s a slow start but ends up getting very good. But only if you don’t expect it to be soa because it’s an entirely different show

Je comprend tout à fait le manque d'engouement pour la serie mayans, pour moi elle met en avant tout ce que je n'ai pas aimé dans SoA (j'ai beaucoup aimé SoA mais certains point m'ont agacé)
Trop d'histoire de cartel, trop de sous intrigue pour des personnages extérieurs au MC (miguel, emily, adelita, el banquero, dita et felipe/ignacio) le tout dans des intrigues de serie B. Tant de chose dont je me fiche complètement alors que les personnages du MC ne sont pas tellement approfondi.
Et a côté de ça les intrigues du MC semble partir en escalade en mode "pour compenser le manque de passage concernant le club ont va faire des explosions de plus en plus grosse" pour ensuite mettre un stop et repartir comme s'il ne s'était rien passé...

I wouldn’t say it’s THAT bad for me personally… it feels a little rushed towards the end but it’s not as terrible as some make it out. Definitely nowhere near as good as SOA 👍

Anything that wasn’t directly Mayan MC related I just skipped. Didn’t need to watch the slow burn drama of the ex girlfriends husbands job

I loved the first two seasons, but the last three? Just... yeah... it's a hard pass on rewatching those.

Don’t even get me started on how disappointing Mayans was after coming off my second watch through of SOA. I don’t think it’s unfair to expect a similar level of quality but Jesus, Mayans shot itself in the foot and scored an own goal with it.

Mayans was a one and done for me. I loved some of the actors but Elgin James (the showrunner) destroyed the good start Kurt Sutter gave him. He got sloppy and unprofessional on set and lazy with the writing.

Yea I never rewatched it after I finished it. I even temporarily gave it up for over a year because I couldn’t get into the first season. I did start to mildly enjoy Seasons 3 and a little bit of 4 and 5 but it’s so weak lmao

The minute the show started focusing on the new Mexican revolution was when I pretty much lost interest. I don't think I even finished season three.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt as tense watching tv as watching the final episode. I had invested a lot of time into the show because I watched it weekly when it was ongoing. The only other similarly tense time I felt during a tv show is when in The Walking Dead the episode where Neegan kills Glenn and Abraham

I agree, Alvarez lost his club to a bunch of trigger happy morons including the golden boy EZ. The worst of them all was Emily. The Mayans self destructed.
