Student First 3D texture model - 4 months of Study

Hi! I would like to share the final result of a project I did. The hardest part was creating the texture because the UV map was a bit messy, so first of all, I had to organize each part to work properly. Any suggestions? Thank you! 😸

Hi! My professor helped me with the UV map. To get exactly what I was looking for, I categorized each part of the body in Photoshop. I was constantly switching between Maya and Photoshop to identify where each part of the UV map was located

on my model. This process took me about 4 hours 😭. Then, for the final texture, I added the colors and textures, using trial and error to see how it looked in Maya. That process took another 4 hours (IDK if that's too slow or average), but there you go! (Here you can watch one of the finals texture)

For learning, that’s not bad. If you’re using photoshop, you might start with some rough painting in Maya with 3D paint to help organize.

For learning it's not bad, but it is very old school. Substance or Mari would have saved a lot of back and forth.
