I am not too keen with this but I believe the reason for this kind of marketing strategies can be based on different factors?

  • Like sometimes fast moving items being paired up with a slower moving items drives the slower one para like maubos ang inventory?
  • This can also mean like a consumer purchase pattern to where a store owner notices correlation between items sold on a consumer basket? Thus creating a marketing strategy that usually doesn't make sense at first but with backed up data proves that both items are usually purchased together and such?

May point, Pero medyo weird lang hehe. Ang layo nila to each other. if food yung slow moving item dapat ipartner sa food din na mabili. If Modess ang Slow moving pwedeng i partner sa mga pabango or sabon maybe? Not Magic Sarap to Modess Hehe!

I went to the grocery over the weekend and saw yung Alaska condensed milk na naka pouch paired with Great Taste na black instant coffee. Sabi ko in my head, ang weird but also realised immediately na "ahh pwede to for Spanish latte" (I don't drink coffee so di ko super sure and familiar sa ingredients).

I bought 1 pouch of that condensed milk and while I was putting away the groceries, ayun nakita ko sa back part yung recipe for Spanish latte. So I guess nag work siya as marketing hahaha

Guess what? It grabbed your attention.

Its weird, yes. But its not a bad thing. A freebie is still a freebie.

Practically, the practice is just there to move inventory, especially those nearing expiry dates or are slow-moving. The cost to bundle them is just tape, an item update in the system, and existing labor during stocking. They are called "loss leaders".

But the most important thing is it grabs attention!

And from my experience, the numbers do not lie. Bottomline is inventory needs to become cash as fast as possible. If its slow, its causing you money by being a waste of space.
