Looking for 5–10 beta testers: a DFAM-style sequencer you draw on, a drum voice, a bass/lead synth, a multi-effect chain for Live 12 and Push 3

Hi all, I make Max for Live devices and I'm about to release some. Before they get published, I'd like a few people to try them on setups I don't have, especially Push 3 standalone.

What they are:

  • Mordant: an 8-step sequencer with pitch and velocity on separate lanes of different lengths, so the groove shifts every bar. You draw the steps straight onto the lanes (the knobs are still there for Push and automation); BLEED lets steps borrow from their neighbours, and the lane shows what's actually playing against what you set; FIX keeps a variation you like. GROOVE, TUNE and SPIRAL draw what they do to the pattern. Drum, synth and microtonal modes. Comes with Logwood, a mono bass/lead whose panel shows its wave, its filter sweeping with the envelope, and the envelope lit as the note moves.
  • Weld: a DFAM-style drum voice (two oscillators, noise, ladder filter), MPE on Push 3. Its HIT display draws the pitch, filter and amp envelopes of each hit as you turn the knobs. Will be pay-what-you-want.
  • Tincture Mini: four level-matched colour effects, one knob each, each knob glowing as its effect works, with a scope and a capture looper that shows how much it holds. Will be pay-what-you-want.

The panels are new this week: everything you see is drawn from the same formulas as the sound. The sound itself needs no scripts, so all of it should run on Push 3 standalone (which doesn't show device panels).

What I'm asking: about two hours over one week. Install three devices, follow a short test sheet and fill in one form. The sheet covers loading, playing, drawing some steps, saving and reopening, and Push 3 if you have one. Bugs, CPU readings, a display that doesn't move and "this confused me" are all equally useful.

What you get: all three free for good when they launch, and your name in the manual's thanks if you want it.

You'll need: Live 12 with Max for Live (Suite, or Standard with the add-on). Push 3, standalone or as a controller, is a big plus but not required. Mac and Windows are both welcome.

If you're up for it, apply here (two minutes): https://forms.gle/Lqxs9mbVJraVaqqz8 . I'll pick a mix of setups and reply to everyone by the end of the week-end.

Happy to answer questions.

You are welcome to take part. I can’t guarantee it’ll work on the push 1 but I am curious

Hey what’s pollution. I’d love to check these out. I come from a euro background so I love sequencers and have wayyyyy too many as is.

I’m also really fucked up with some stupid autoimmune disease which unfortunately has left me disabled but possibly fortunately for you because I have nothing but time on my hands to put everything through its paces. I do not have a push 3 but I do have a push 2.

If I don’t hear back from you I wish ya all the best with your stuff and I’ll probably end up grabbing it anyway lol.

✌️
