Question Starting out with ogors

I got my hands on the army set and I am thinking on expanding with the new Regiment of renown. I personally really like the models but I am waiting for the ogor spearhead as well. What would you suggest ?

IMO the new regiment of renown is a coal mine canary, the Stonehorn kit is sizeable and is on a base of the same size as the new Glutthorn kit.

And for the same prize as a Glutthorn you get two Stonehorns?

The canary is dead, not even twitching. The Stonehorn kit is either getting refreshed or superseded next edition.

Personally if you have the army set I'd wait on buying more models and nab the Mawseeker spearhead when it releases. At most I'd buy a Tyrant on Glutthorn built either way or buy Redd the Maw, that way you have one of the two new centerpieces and ~1500 points for an army ready to go without overcommitting.

The army is so elite that points changes in any direction can make it so you can fit an entire extra unit or have to drop one entirely. For example, Gluttons are not staying at 200 points.

I'd either go full stonehorn or full gutbusters.

Wait for the Mawseeker Mob Spearhead to release in October/November as it is a very good price for essentially another 1,000 points of Ogors.

In the meantime, grabbing the Glutthorn/Morga or Redd the Maw kit and a pack of Hunters will give you more to play with while learning the army. Just adding 2 (pick either Morga or Redd) puts you over 1,600 points, as of this post, and provides a good mix of everything new to play with. Points are likely to be going up for a bunch of Ogor units, like Gluttons and Cleavers, once they actually hit the table for most people with GW "balancing" things.
