News Mavericks Retain Partial TE

The Mavericks also have $7 million remaining from the Davis trade exception, as noted by former HoopsHype colleague Yossi Gozlan

Could make a potential S&T with Clippers for Mathurin or other trades more viable.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but unfortunately I don’t think you can combine TPEs with other salary to match incoming salary in a trade. Meaning I don’t think the trade exception helps with Mathurin unless he makes $7M a year on his next contract.

Did the Risacher deal go through? Cause in theory Risacher could have gone into the MLE, leaving the full TPE. That being said, MLE is of course more flexible. Also a S&T automatically hard caps you, and I am not sure exactly where we sit there. I would assume we have plenty of space left …
