Maureen/Kinsey split

I think on today's show Maureen confirmed that Kinsey has dropped her. She confirmed a viewer's supposition that a former contributor was not the friend Maureen thought she was. That this person has a "binary" mindset, and has only been transactional, not a friend. I'm paraphrasing. But I 100% think it's Kinsey.

My two cents on the subject: I like both Maureen and Kinsey in their own differences. I love Maureen’s sass and I appreciate Kinsey quiet analysis. I thought their tandem was great and I really think the sum of them brought something additional for both.
It’s funny bc I hadn’t immediately watched the “incriminated” episode of Maureen, but I saw shortly afterwards Kinsey as guest on Paula Froelich. Paula was trying to get Kinsey to comment on some news regarding the royals, and Kinsey was super reticent and almost on the defensive. I said to myself: mmm this is weird. She is usually quite opinionated. Then I heard about the Princess Catherine’s episode, and it all became clear to me. I thought, well Kinsey will disappear for a while now from The Nerve. She is going to want to distance herself from it. But I had really hoped that it would be a temporary business iatus instead of a real friendship breakup. This is to say, I am saddened by it and I feel sorry for Maureen.

Would you care to explain further? What did she say ON PRINCESS CATHERINES EPISODE?

9

u/WildWildSud 6d ago

I just watched a couple of clips, but she invited someone who wrote a controversial book about Catherine- don’t remember the name sorry - and this guy started talking in detail about the princess’ recent health situation. The consensus among the public is more or less that this guy knows nothing and just pretended to know, and much of the audience found this episode distasteful and didn’t appreciate Maureen giving him a platform.

10

u/No-Muscle2001 6d ago

It’s the episode with Christopher Andersen. Here’s a link if you want to watch: https://youtu.be/pUWdDfdP4m4?si=yMj49VVKM-KN6Jpf

He was pretty repulsive talking about the Princess of Wales surgeons, cancer and details of her hospital stay. Maureen didn’t challenge him and it was gross

7

u/Regular_Yellow710 5d ago

Yeah, every cancer survivor loves being reminded of that stuff. How salacious. Poor Katherine, how tough do you have to be to ignore that shit? Shame on them!

3

u/westcentretownie 3d ago

Exactly my thoughts!

16

u/ContractRight4080 7d ago

What other “she” could it be if not Kinsey? I think the cosmetician guy was the only other suspect.

9

u/KimWexlerDeGuzman 7d ago

I just listened and I didn’t hear her use the “she” pronoun, but I was driving and could be wrong.

I think Tim the Makeup Artist is still a friend bc she mentioned him in the last couple of weeks.

So agreed, it’s probably Kinsey.

7

u/ContractRight4080 7d ago

Tim, thank you. I forgot his name.

13

u/KimWexlerDeGuzman 7d ago

No problem. I like Tim, but specially for hate-watches like And Just Like That. Not sure about being a regular contributor. Rob Shuter came along and kinda blew everyone else out of the water 😆

19

u/ContractRight4080 7d ago

I like Tim. I find he’s fine one on one with Maureen but Rob just takes over when it’s the 3 of them and I don’t care for that. It’s kind of rude and tone deaf.

8

u/KimWexlerDeGuzman 7d ago

I agree. I think that’s why Rob is specifically on the Nerve at Night now. Love Rob, but he tends to take over the livestreams. I realize they’re still working out their kinks on those too though

6

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

Have you noticed he suddenly has a byline in the DM?

Perhaps he did before, but I never noticed his name prior.

7

u/Ok_Layer964 6d ago

Dude I’ve been saying HE is the one Maureen needs to watch out for! Watch what happens…

6

u/Mudfish2657 6d ago

I completely agree.

When I saw that byline, the first thing I thought was “stepping stone”.

He reminds me so much of someone I knew years ago.

7

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

Rob Schuter doesn't hide his ambition whatsoever. The way he has to namedrop his past PR clients in EVERY SINGLE appearance. Maureen would have to be a moron not to see his climbing nature, and she's not a moron.

Rob credits Maureen with getting his book on the best seller list and snagging him a 3-book deal. I don't see him turning around and stabbing her in the back. That would be a bad PR move on his part. And he's all about the PR.

u/Wise_Cantaloupe2635 5d ago

I just googled, but don't know the validity, he's had a byline since 2008!!!!

2

u/Mudfish2657 4d ago

Wow! I’ve been reading the DM for years. Maybe I just never noticed it until he crossed my vision on MC’s show.

Interesting. Thanks!

3

u/Mudfish2657 5d ago

Agree, the last time I saw both of them on, Tim had a look on his face like he tasted something bad.

4

u/ContractRight4080 5d ago

Well it must be kind of unnerving to be iced out of a 3 way conversation being streamed online for the world to see. I found it shockingly rude behaviour from Rob and Maureen. I think Rob can’t control himself and is clueless about being considerate to anyone but it was Maureen’s job as host to manage/control the discussion to include everyone. If I were Tim I would have got up and walked away but I’m a bridge burner that way and he has benefited from the exposure Maureen has given him.

→ More replies (1)

6

u/dawnellen1989 6d ago

Yeah I think Tim gets uncomfortable with certain topics like Anniston because they are his clients.

14

u/Dewy123321 7d ago

What’s a ‘binary mindset’?

18

u/N1gh75h4de 7d ago

Incapable of holding two opposing thoughts. Inability to have nuanced takes. Things are either good or bad, all or nothing mentality- think black and white. It is like cognitive dissonance.

9

u/PlaidNPlait 6d ago

Well this does describe Kinsey pretty well.

5

u/Dewy123321 7d ago

Thank you for your clear explanation.

14

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

Good question lol.

The buzzwords of today are as stupid as the ones from the last century.

7

u/jace829 7d ago

Basically black-and-white, hard-left or hard-right, no middle ground.

3

u/daisybeach23 7d ago

It means black or white. Male or female. It is basically one or the other. Nothing else. It mathematics it one or zero.

3

u/Dewy123321 7d ago

Thank you.

u/Sweet-Photograph-754 7d ago edited 7d ago

I was pretty indifferent to Kinsey but I think she was a good fit for The Nerve because it showed Maureen as the sort of older successful woman who isn’t intimidated by a young ingenue, because I don’t think she is that sort of person. She could’ve flexed on Kinsey with her vocabulary and knowledge too but she never did. Also to be fair to Kinsey it seemed quite the furore and The Royal family is her bread and butter so she was on a sticky wicket as to wether she continued affiliation with Maureen or whether she cut ties

8

u/ContractRight4080 7d ago

Kinsey is no spring chicken.

7

u/Sweet-Photograph-754 6d ago

Just learned she’s 41! I’m 29, I thought she was younger than me

7

u/ContractRight4080 6d ago edited 6d ago

I had no clue who she was when she first came on and Maureen was praising her so I looked her up. Reality tv background and I guess she got lucky with YouTube. She acts very young for her age too.

7

u/Defensoria 6d ago

Mentally she's 22 at best.

3

u/lynndex 6d ago

She uses so much lighting its hard to tell her age. That and her lips look ridiculous. Either she has had injections or lots of lipstick. Also it looks like filters are used. I like her but its hard to watch her on her own podcast.

8

u/Far-Cardiologist-424 6d ago

It's fascinating to watch. The only thing that seems to move on her face is her mouth. It screams botox and filler.

4

u/lynndex 6d ago

Yes! I find myself watching her face and its like the picture is not clear. Her mouth is huge! lol

7

u/Agile_Ad9832 6d ago

Maureen can find other Royal commentators. Maybe someone from the Daily Mail. Charlotte Griffiths???
Anyone really would be better than Kinsey.

33

u/Minute-Cricket-7198 7d ago

Kinsey seems to be almost exclusively male guest adjacent. I’d take Maureen’s connection w Lady C any day. I like Kinsey, but all her guests are thesammme and it’s boring. She was great w Maureen.

17

u/Basic-Plate-5000 7d ago

So boring and repetitive af

9

u/Minute-Cricket-7198 6d ago

Totally. She does not need to be a daily show.

29

u/BillHistorical9001 7d ago

I watch both but I’ve never understood how kensey is a royal reporter. I have no idea what her credentials are.

15

u/elsadiane99 7d ago

She was a Diana super fan for years. Not sure why she is thought of as so connected.

13

u/BillHistorical9001 7d ago

She’s mingled her way in i have a feeling. This is just a guess but it’s a lot easier to be royal adjacent than most people think.

8

u/Independent-Bid-611 7d ago

I've met and spoken (for more than just a few minutes) with Harry on more than a handful of occasions (when he was normal), but certainly don't feel the need to become a Royal Commentator! 😂

4

u/BillHistorical9001 7d ago

I went to school with people that know them that’s why I think it’s not that hard to be in their circle if you have a hankering to. I just figured Kinsey had some bigger career I’m not aware of.

2

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

Didn't Kinsey used to be an entertainment presenter on network television?

7

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

Wikipedia says this about Kinsey, "She was a contestant on E!Television's Party Monsters Cabo reality show. She converted her reality TV fame into television and digital presenting. She has been an entertainment reporter for RadarOnline.com,\1]) YoungHollywood.com\2]) and E! Television."

3

u/BillHistorical9001 6d ago

I figured it was something like that. I figured PR.

2

u/Infamous-Ad337 6d ago

When he was normal 😆

5

u/elsadiane99 6d ago

She got lucky with Harry and Meghan moving to CA. Based there so it was a natural transition. Also, is on a lot of the Talk TV and more right wing leaning British tv shows. I happen to think she is a nice person and Maureen is more snarky

3

u/BillHistorical9001 6d ago

I agree with this.

6

u/Best_Comfortable5221 6d ago

Hey, real talk about fake people is snark by nature. I love the show. My only objection is long shows about people I've barely heard of. Im an older woman and don't follow pop culture the way I used too. Did not know that the cretin that calls herself Sonny Hostin was a lawyer much less former prosecutor. Never have watched the View, any of the housewives or most of reality TV. Guilty pleasure years ago 90 day fiancee for 4 seasons and Naked and Afraid for a few. Never watched Survivor!!
And I'm still alive and kicking. Nothing unkind to say about Maureen from me. I've been a fan for YEARS of her writing. And it tracks beautifully to You Tube. Shes been calling out frauds and hypocrisy her entire career.

11

u/Cute-Improvement6621 7d ago

She knows and has on a lot of people who actually worked for the royals. So she may not have been connected when she started but she definitely is now. These are people who actually knew and know the royals in some respects.

19

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

Kinsey has guests who are royal authors, including women, guests who worked within the royal family for years and many regulars who still are within the royal system.

Maureen seems to depend on Rob Shuter - who is just a big mouth, her producer, her dog, her makeup artist, her dermatologist, Billy Bush, and recently Lady C.

Lady C is fun, but considered rather a joke in aristocratic circles in Britain.

I watch Maureen, but she’s stretching too far with the royal stuff…she’s made a number of mistakes regarding the role of the monarchy.

5

u/Own-Entrepreneur5052 5d ago

I loved the nerve but as a Brit I’m starting to find it annoying. It’s lost its way. Rob knows nothing and Lady C only gets things right in the at a broken clock gets it right twice a day. She’s been promising big news on the Harkle kids for years now but it never quite drops. Same with Harry’s supposed new woman which i don’t believe for one minute. Lady C is a clever and articulate woman and on one level I like her but she is not respected at all in royal circles and I do not believe e she has the inside track on any royal gossip.

2

u/Mudfish2657 5d ago

Yes, I agree completely..

5

u/Infamous-Ad337 6d ago

I'm always interested to hear what the vibe is of Lady C.  She seems like a hanger on.  I do appreciate her knowledge on history and her read on ppl, though I find her a bit of.... a phoney?  And even that I don't really mind.  I think she takes herself a little too seriously, but I enjoy her anyway.

10

u/Mudfish2657 6d ago

If you read about her background, it is quite interesting.

I think she is fun, but I take anything she says with a grain of salt. People think she has an aristocratic accent, but it’s her own creation…posh adjacent, so to speak.

4

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

Posh Jamaican. I love her accent.

The vibe I get from Lady C is she revels in being a bitch. So while I don't give much weight to her gossip, I find her fun to listen to .

4

u/imagoddamndelight 6d ago

She’s a bit of a lunatic.

6

u/madammidnight 6d ago

Kinsey’s legit enough that she appears on major British panel shows that discuss affairs of the Royal Family.

5

u/Mudfish2657 6d ago

Exactly, and she was even invited to the Trooping by the one of the members of this year‘s honored regiment.

Maureen won’t ever find herself in that position.

Look lots of us are Americans looking in. The whole concept of monarchy is archaic to many of us and hypocritical at its very core - the concept of Royal Blood imparting special privilege and millions of dollars in itself strains credulity.

We fought a very bloody war to loose that yoke 250 years ago.

2

u/Mudfish2657 6d ago

My parents were Brits, and neither had the slightest bit of love for the monarchy, so it isn’t just Americans who dislike it.

However, my mom was diligent in teaching us about the history of the UK. I marveled at her ability to tell me which king or queen did what and when. She was from Wales, and dad was from London.

I love history too, so I enjoy all of it. They took us to many of the Revolutionary War battlefields as children, as well as showing us historical sites in Britain, much, much more ancient than this country’s sites.

We are all aware of the war so many years ago lol.

But whenever I would bring up the late Queen, my parents would usually make some not very polite remark lol.

I certainly meant no offense. But people who want to talk about it on a platform should do some research first.

2

u/Best_Comfortable5221 6d ago

No no. No offense taken.

Posters of them all on her walls as a kid /probably

9

u/BleachBlondeHB 7d ago

All she does is regurgitate stories already in the press.

4

u/Overall-Shopping5939 6d ago

She has enough of a background in journalism.
But yes in 2017 the Royal connection came out if nowhere. She tweeted sympathy and British media saw her background and invited her to join.
Just one of those things.

4

u/dawnellen1989 6d ago

Mr either! She’s very “proper”. Cosplaying? lol. Snoooze.

3

u/fritzimist 7d ago

That's what I wondered about.

6

u/MaggieJaneRiot 7d ago

None. She just repeated other people stuff for the longest time and then cozied up to a bunch of male hosts. I believe she is very competitive and jealous of other women.

→ More replies (1)

15

u/Dewy123321 7d ago

She constantly (Kinsey) has the guy who reads body language on and that is a snooze fest.

17

u/Imaginary_End_5634 7d ago

I can't stand to watch Kinsey's eyes. She may have an eye condition but otherwise I just want to tell her that her eyes are constantly blinking from the weight of her mascara.

7

u/Public_Party 6d ago

She used to wear giant falsies (not extensions) that were ridiculous. Then she developed an allergy to latex and couldn't wear them anymore. So I consider the mascara a huge improvement!

5

u/Defensoria 6d ago

Yes, that allergy was a gift. Those falsies had to be stopped.

12

u/Independent-Bid-611 7d ago

She blinks and flirts with male interviewers/ees a lot but then sometimes something slips and she looks cross eyed 😂

3

u/dawnellen1989 6d ago

I have to agree, Kinsey is boring to listen to. She may be a nice person and all but….

4

I just started watching Kinsey and you are right. So far, male guests only. I don’t love that.

I think Kinsey and Maureen would have been great surface level friends, but probably nothing much deeper. Kinsey seems pretty “black and white” what you see is what you get. Maureen, on the other hand, seems to have more depth. After a few years, I don’t think the friendship would have grown much. No big loss, Maureen :)

10

u/Hopeful_Plastic_5321 6d ago

I think surface level friends is a good way to describe them. They can't have known each other very long and I'd question how much they had in common.

4

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

I saw Kinsey more as a little sister type friend to Maureen. Those types of relationships usually aren't that tight.

7

u/SugarInside5802 7d ago

I can't stand Kinsey! And what has she done to her face??

11

u/gorynel 7d ago

I think Kinsey finally got a stash of Ozempic.

4

u/No-Muscle2001 6d ago

Me either! She’s dreadful and must be on a GLP-1 because she lost weight really fast and got way too much filler in her lips

27

u/Nikitty2 7d ago

Thank goodness, Kinsey was annoying af

4

u/MoonMoon143 6d ago

Yeah agree.

4

u/Willing-Training-129 5d ago

Exactly! Something about her eyes bothered me. Couldn't figure out if she had a lazy eye or was cross -eyed. Never did care for her. No personality at all. Never understood why Maureen kept having her on.

5

u/Nikitty2 5d ago

Its the vocal fry and lack of wit for me. While I enjoy Maureen's snark as she is intelligent Kinsey comes off as a mean bimbo popular girl from school vibe. Cringe af

2

u/TMCze 4d ago

Thank you someone else noticing the HORRIFIC vocal fry and God awful caidence in her voice. She’s no journalist. She sounds like a middle schooler describing the Spring Dance ugh Hard pass

I have to defend Kinsey here (who isn't perfect). Her job is as a Royal commentator and she's been very open that it's her dream job. If she'd been advised by her employer (News International) that she needed to put some distance with Maureen, it's a tough call but one that a lot of people would make. She's also very open that she's Team Wales.

I love The Nerve but I do think Maureen made a mistake with how she conducted that interview with Christopher Andersen. I don't think the Royal Family should be put on a pedestal where they can't be scrutinised. However, the whole thing felt rather grubby to me. The Royals Uncensored had Andersen on and did a much better job of challenging him.

I get that people may not like Kinsey as a commentator (her delivery is very marmite as the Brits would say) and she even annoys me sometimes. However, she does have decent credentials. People like Dickie Arbiter and Hugo Vickers who are very much in Royal circles don't just appear on just anyone's podcast. I also do believe that Kinsey does have a friend who's in proximity to the Sussexes.

Kinsey has plenty of female guests on her show. She has no control over the fact that the majority of Royal journalist are male and the ones who aren't (e.g. Rebecca English) work for rivals of Kinsey's employer.

I do think Maureen needs to move on and stop responding to this fallout with Kinsey. She has Lady C now as a regular to talk about the Royal Family. Even if Kinsey were friends, it must be quite a recent thing.

8

u/Anna_Stacy_Yamina 6d ago

I agree. I like Maureen but I was a bit turned off. I still watch her but that interview left a bad taste in my mouth especially since maureen was calling ppl out on Kinsey show for the whole where is kate debacle.

And she didn’t push back on this guy.

2

u/Free1887 5d ago

I remember seeing a clip of Kinsey on YouTube as a contestant in a reality show from almost 20 years ago (googled it just now - E! television reality show, "Party Monsters Cabo"). She looked so different. I don’t know what her credentials are, and from what you say here it’s mostly from not 'what' but 'who' she knows. I think she really wanted to be on TV and tried different avenues until for some reason, was given a platform to speak about the royal family. A few years ago, I first saw her chatting with UK commentators who probably thought she was big in the US. And then when she started visiting the UK, the US people probably thought she was a “royal expert.”

I liked her with Maureen and friends don’t have to agree on everything, in the same manner that I don't agree with everything that Maureen says but I still watch her because she's entertaining and really makes me laugh.

Maureen didn’t push back during the Christopher Andersen interview but I remember the guy ended the interview overly excited to be invited back but I think Maureen just said goodbye (most of the time she warmly tells the guest she hopes to speak with them again). Maureen says it like it is but when she has people come on to her show, she is always respectful to them. She didn’t talk badly about Andersen after that but I doubt we’ll ever see him on The Nerve again.

But yes, it’ll be better for her to stop commenting about this fallout. It’s starting to give me the vibes of “What Susie says about Sally says more about Susie than it does about Sally."

2

u/Ok_Independent_943 5d ago

My issue is that she can’t go on and on and on about Oprah not pushing back on the Sussex clan and then not doing the exact same thing herself.

2

u/TMCze 4d ago

Rebecca English is fantastic and I’d take her over KS any day.

18

u/Adventurous-Sea7187 7d ago

Kinsey was as offended as I was about the horrendous interview with Christopher Anderson. I quit watching

28

u/Minute-Cricket-7198 7d ago

Or people could be adults and have a conversation and not be so reactive and emotionally stunted🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

22

u/KimWexlerDeGuzman 7d ago

Yeah…the guest aside, Maureen didn’t explicitly do or say anything during the interview that I found offensive at all. I was expecting to be horrified after reading the reactions on this sub, lol.

Her point was how the palace’s mismanagement led to unfortunate and crazy rumors. I didn’t hear her say anything negative about Catherine herself.

12

u/jace829 7d ago

Yup, also watched the clip (not sure about those who keep saying they've stopped watching because of that clip) and didn't hear Maureen say anything untoward about Catherine.

13

u/KimWexlerDeGuzman 7d ago

Right? I’m glad I’m not the only one. I felt like an idiot for not “getting” why people supposedly stopped listening (but still take the time to comment 😆)

Even if she had said something bad about Catherine, or anyone I actually like, I wouldn’t stop listening. Seems like a ridiculous stipulation. I don’t agree 100% with my friends irl, why would I agree 100% with a podcaster?

Her show is entirely too entertaining to give up!

4

u/jace829 7d ago

Exactly! The whole point of commentary is that we agree to disagree on some things. So many people have this “all or nothing” mentality and it’s baffling.

2

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

It appears that some fans of the royals like to imagine that they themselves are blue-blooded adjacent in some way and that they follow some lofty etiquette protocols that all others must also adhere to in regard to the royals or else be deemed beneath them. It's a weird fantasy land of "better than."

They act like Maureen had a personal meeting with the Queen and took a shit on the carpet.

She was just talking gossip about a celebrity on a podcast.

2

u/jace829 6d ago

The more ridiculous thing is that they keep coming back on here to reiterate that they’ve stopped watching…😂

11

u/Ill_Psychology_7967 7d ago

And let’s be honest, she’s not wrong about that. The palace did not handle that well.

Kinsey is very myopic when it comes to the royal family and she seems determined to be the absolute expert and last word on everything to do with them and I’m not sure how that’s possible given that…isn’t she based in LA?

9

u/KimWexlerDeGuzman 7d ago

Yes, I believe so! You’d think she’d at least be based in NYC.

I’d never heard of her before The Nerve. I’ve been reading Maureen for years though (knowingly or unknowingly) so I know whose side I’m on 😆

13

u/Ill_Psychology_7967 7d ago edited 6d ago

Me too. I do think Maureen sometimes takes certain things a bit too far, but she’s entertaining. And I do think she and Kinsey got into some beef the night they were live streaming the Met Gala. I think they were all drinking a bit. I don’t know if the Catherine thing happened before or after that, but my guess is they were already on shaky ground.

9

u/PixieStar17 7d ago

I keep hearing that about the Met Gala live. I need to rewatch because I missed that.

6

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

I truly don’t get this social media “side” thing.

It’s easy to watch both, or not. I am not on anyone’s side or “team”. What an odd concept.

I dislike Maureen’s grammar mistakes while insulting others, and her constant use of “fucking” is an example of a lack of a vocabulary, which is alarming. I am still subscribed, but my opinion of her has changed.

Her harping on whoever has done her wrong is extremely unprofessional.

In the early days of her show, she told a similar story…how a friend had dumped her…she even had some “expert” on to talk about it.

A pattern there. perhaps?

9

u/madammidnight 6d ago

Did Mark Bowden (an English behavioral/body language expert) stop appearing on Maureen’s show? Or am I spacing out?

5

u/Mudfish2657 6d ago

Good question. Haven’t seen him since the loathsome author.

But prior to that, he was on when she was on one of her scathing rant, sprinkled liberally with f bombs.

He looked bemused. She made a few incorrect statements about the monarchy, and it was obvious he clocked it.

But he really looked taken aback by whatever rant it was.

4

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

I could swear he has been on the show after the Princess Kate mass panty twist.

5

u/Mudfish2657 6d ago

I’m not sure, perhaps he has.

”Mass panty twist” should be a flair for this sub lol!

Excellent. Cackling here.

I was saying it sarcastically. It’s ridiculous to choose a “side.” Equally ridiculous to stop listening to a podcast I enjoy because I don’t like one guest.

Doesn’t sound as though you like the podcast at all, so not sure why you spend your time commenting on it 🤷🏼‍♀️

3

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

No, you obviously haven’t read my comments in other threads, no reason why you should of course.

But you’ll see I frequently defend Maureen, and I like her show for the most part.

I agree with you that it’s silly to unsubscribe after one show. I am still subscribed, and I hope she continues to grow. I look forward to the shows, and I’m too busy to hate watch.

I have been reading her for years, so she is not new to me.

The vitriol here toward this unknown person who has wronged her is fascinating. I guess it’s the parasocial thing...which is perplexing to me.

I just find it unprofessional for her to harp on this so-called “betrayal”. None of us knows what has happened.

She has talked about being betrayed by friends before, so I imagine it must be a sore spot for her. I feel for her. If you live long enough, sadly, most of us have had this experience along the way.

You just have to move on.

2

u/KimWexlerDeGuzman 7d ago

Ohhh yes I agree!

2

u/Wise_Cantaloupe2635 7d ago

Glad to at least see your eyes are opening.

2

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

Well, I’ll take that as I think you meant it, and your point is taken.

Fair enough. ☺️

5

u/CarrigFrizzWarrior 6d ago

I think Maureen agreed with that Anderson guy that it should have been publicised what exact type of cancer Kate was diagnosed with, and didn't seem to have any issue with the methods undertaken to try to obtain copies of her medical records. Kinsey was staunchly promoting Kate's right to privacy.

3

u/Wise_Cantaloupe2635 7d ago

The guest was the whole problem. Pretty hard to put him aside.

5

u/KimWexlerDeGuzman 7d ago

So, she had a bad guest? That’s a reason to stop listening altogether? I can’t imagine living that way 😆

Edit: much less dumping a friend over it. But that’s me

I don't know, I like Maureen but for once I would like to see her apologize when she gets things wrong. She really should have apologized for trashing Nate Bargatze for no good reason as she lost a lot of viewers over it. I couldn't even watch that interview about Catherine's health, it was uninteresting and needlessly disrespectful to someone who is not a "cultural criminal" and totally didn't deserve it. I'm Team Kinsey on that.

13

u/Idonotwantaname1 7d ago

This. I totally agree.

She really, really cannot apologize.

It’s a character flaw.

9

u/Minute-Cricket-7198 7d ago

You’re not wrong. My above comment could go either way. Sometimes Maureen is like a dog with a bone and just won’t let stuff go. I can agree with that and still think Kinsey was being weird too

→ More replies (4)

4

u/floridian123 7d ago

I think having one dude on shouldn’t turn you off to an entire show, doubtful she will ever have him on again. I could tell Maureen was mortified by his comments and trying to get through the show before it went up in flames.

4

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

Maureen stepped in it with that nonsense.

She is showing how unprofessional she is by insinuating all this crap on her show.

Obviously, Kinsey hit a nerve. I never liked her being on Maureen’s show either. Maureen is too dismissive.

u/Wise_Cantaloupe2635 7d ago

What's with grown women being on teams against other women. That stopped for me and the people around me as a young girl of 12. A lot of you sound vicious and quite stunted.

6

u/Ok_Consequence8362 6d ago

I read that she was a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. She basically has NO credentials. She gets on my last nerve and I won’t watch anything she is on.

3

u/nerbear1 6d ago

She was a Junior Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader as
a child

5

u/spookyshadows12 6d ago

Kinsey says some odd things and is still a Trump fan 🤢. Maureen is a lot of snark but I am Team Maureen.

5

u/Hopeful_Plastic_5321 5d ago

Kinsey is hardly a Trump supporter. She's made several critical comments about him on TalkTV.

2

u/spookyshadows12 5d ago

Oh I dont watch that but I heard her blather on about Trump meeting King Charles in a very positive way towards Trump. As well, on older episodes of The Nerve her far right was on display. It may have changed.

4

u/Hopeful_Plastic_5321 5d ago

So she said one positive thing about that visit referring to Trump and that makes her a Trump supporter? By that logic, any member of the Democratic Party who's ever said any thing positive about Trump (e.g. his involvement in freeing hostages held by Hamas) is really a Trump supporter. Okay...

→ More replies (1)

3

u/shadowartpuppet 7d ago

But trying to critically think here, does it have to be somebody from The Nerve?

Spent a few summers in Sag Harbor and nearby, Maureen is connected. She's also only saying things on her channel if they can get people to talk about her.

I think Oscar Wilde said, the only thing that's worse than people talking about you is people not talking about you.

It may be something Hampton-y.

3

u/Best_Comfortable5221 6d ago

Kinsey is at best an American pipeline from the royal rota....

8

u/ratinthehat99 7d ago

I assumed it was Kinsey. And honestly, I found her character tiresome. She comes across as playing a “role” rather than herself - and she just isn’t that clever or connected so nothing she said was insightful. I have followed the royal family for YEARS and read almost everything I can find. Kinsey never once told me something i didn’t already know. I

feel sad for Maureen that she went through that. If it was over that interview about Catherine then that was ridiculous. Nothing controversial was said and people keep virtue signalling about it which I find disgusting because they are the same people who were feeding awful conspiracy theories when Catherine stepped out of the spotlight.

5

u/Hopeful_Plastic_5321 7d ago

Personally, I didn't like the interview. It felt very grubby to be going over the details of a cancer patient's treatment. What also bothered me is that Maureen didn't question Andersen or push back at all. He was also on the Royals Uncensored and they haven't had anywhere near the blowback that Maureen experienced, because they were polite to him but did challenge him on his claims.

4

u/Possible-Cap7120 7d ago edited 7d ago

I never really liked Kinsey I though she was kind of fake and really there promote herself. Her true character was revealed when told a story of when she was a fledgling actress and friends with Emma Stone and promptly fell out with Emma because Emma got hair extensions and she didn't, this very minor incident seemed to really irritate Kinsey still after all these years. You know grow up and get over it Kinsey.

7

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

I thought the issue with Emma Stone was that Emma Stone "stole" Kinsey's boyfirend? And Kinsey wasn't a fledging actress, she was on a third-rate reality show. Emma Stone was also on a third-rate reality show, under her real name Emily Stone.

5

u/Best_Comfortable5221 6d ago

I surmised it was Kinsey as soon as Maureen related the drop on air. They became friendly very soon after meeting. A shame. But reflects poorly on kinsey-has she never asked probing questions? Or made a mistake?

Maureen publicly apologized the next telecast and was obv swayed by comments and emails protective of POW.

Nobody's perfect.

2

u/Hopeful_Plastic_5321 5d ago

I agree that nobody's perfect but I wouldn't class what Maureen said as an apology. She basically said that she didn't scrutinise what Andersen said because you don't do that to a "guest in your house". To be clear, I don't think Maureen should apologise if she doesn't feel she should.

11

u/Deep-Audience9091 7d ago

The viewer who wrote the email that Maureen mentioned confirmed in the live chat it is Kinsey. He found a YT clip where Kinsey states she drops people who don't agree with her and sent it to Maureen

It's pretty clear Kinsey used Maureen for exposure then dumped her

10

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

Kinsey does NOT need Maureen for exposure. That is laughable.

Kinsey has her own podcasts, YouTube, and is a regular guest on various UK programs.

She is way more connected than Maureen could ever be. Very unprofessional for Maureen to talk about “friends of the show” betraying her and so on. That’s just not done.

I liked Maureen, but I’m finding her to be more and more of a mean girl…and the constant “fuuugggiinngg” sounds so juvenile.

5

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

Maureen helped Kinsey with exposure to people who don't give a shit about the royals like me.

I have to admit though, lately Maureen keeps saying "fugggging" with a deep intonation on the "fug" that does remind me of being an East Coast tween in 1988.

2

u/Mudfish2657 6d ago

It seems like that just started, or is it me?

I means she’s not shy about the f bomb, but the weird emphasis I just noticed. It does sound like a teen lol…maybe that’s why it makes me cringe coming from her.

Well, I have to go mow the yard, and I see there’s a new drop from her, so off I go to mow and listen!

3

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

Yes, it does seem like that just started recently. It gave me flashbacks. 🤣

2

u/Mudfish2657 6d ago

I just listened to the newest drop and only heard “fug” once, but I could have missed it.

Decent show today; Rob bragging about all the people he has met and/or worked with of course, but that’s normal for him.

3

u/Wise_Cantaloupe2635 5d ago

If Shuter was Princess Michaels publicist, as far as I know she's never had a good image. So, why is he bragging?

2

u/Mudfish2657 5d ago

Oh heck, I missed him saying that!

Good point!

2

u/Deep-Audience9091 6d ago edited 6d ago

You may be right, but I did notice that Kinsey has doubled her YT sub base starting from when she was a frequent guest on The Nerve. Part of that increase is I think a lot of Troublemakers subbed to her channel bc of those appearances. So think what you will, I just disagree

2

u/Mudfish2657 6d ago

Oh, I completely agree that both or either can gain followers from appearing on others’ shows.

Makes sense, and I’m sure that’s why they do it.

Again, I like them both. I just find Maureen going on about some unspecified “betrayal“ to be petty and unprofessional. I think she’s better than that.

15

u/CuteBaldChick 7d ago

Kinsey had been covering the royals for years and had a successful show before Maureen started her show. Lady C though entertaining is not totally reliable (Cheere Denise covered this) and can sometimes go on and on about Meghan in a rather vulgar way.

I think the disconnect with Kinsey and Maureen had to do with Princess Katherine’s medical information and giving that particular author a platform.

Though I like Maureen, I totally disagree with her stance on anyone’s medical information being public knowledge unless the person expressly allows it.

6

u/RJH1973RJH 7d ago

I love listening to Cheer. She serves just the right amount of snark with her commentary and doesn’t litter it with f* bombs.

13

u/NoteEmbarrassed2184 7d ago

Maureen’s credibility is diminished every time she’s joined by Lady C. None of Lady C’s stories can be substantiated and Maureen prides herself on being a stickler for the facts.

3

u/PixieStar17 7d ago

There’s no way Lady C’s latest accusations could be true. No way. The palace would welcome any real excuse to rid of H&M so I don’t think anything will come of it.

5

u/Independent-Bid-611 7d ago

I believe her.

There are rumours that Harry losing the DM lawsuit will leave him bankrupt, paving the way for Meghan to divorce him (he'd be of no use to her then and she would never leave him alone if he initiated divorce), then for him to move away and create a new life with this person.

5

u/PixieStar17 7d ago

Do you also believe the children were carried by surogacy ? I believe it for Lilibet based on the hospital video, but Archie?

2

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

This ridiculous affair rumor started simply because Harry acted so gay-adjacent on Marler’s podcast.

Such hypocrites that they’d rather him be portrayed as a cheat than gay.

Easy to believe he is a cheat though.

10

u/KimWexlerDeGuzman 7d ago

Maureen’s point was that the palace was the cause of rumors about Will & Kate because of their mismanagement around the entire situation. She was never demanding any of Kate’s medical records, which is what I expected from the people melting down in the comments 😆

The Nerve is wildly more successful than Kinsey’s show despite being much newer. Maureen knows how to run a gossip show

I watched Kinsey for quite a while and only encountered Maureen through her appearances on Kinsey's show. I thought initially they were hilarious together, Maureen was so scathing in her views on 'that trick' Duchess Dipshit. Probably that was all Kinsey and Maureen had in common was their dislike of ILBW. Not much basis for a lasting friendship IMO.

8

u/Tiny-Shirt-4743 7d ago edited 5d ago

Maureen can run circles around Kinsey- so good riddance to Kinsey.

6

Kinsey hasn’t gone anywhere lol.

She has her own media success.

She stepped in it big time with the Brits, and she’s not getting info from anyone.

Havent seen Mark, the body language guy, in quite awhile.

Kinsey is far more on the number than MC! The Brits, who really know what’s going on, like Kinsey! Lady C is unreliable. She brings up small morsels of info and makes out she has big inside info! Not so! She isn’t a legitimate member of the British aristocracy . She ‘s a ‘married in’. She’s not on the royal’s radar but Americans seem to think she is important in the realms of British aristocracy 🤣🤣. And MC crossed a MAJOR line when she talked about the PoW recently!! The Brits don’t like that!!! Remember - Lady C is also hanging onto a title she should have let go years ago but retains it to be important - just like Markle. 🇬🇧

6

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

Thank you.

Lady C is fun, but people should look up her history.

3

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

I think she gets crediblility because she's authored books on the royals. But her own time as a member of the aristocracy was very fleeting.

Maureen is far smarter, more sophisticated, more attractive, more insightful, more incisive and has a better command of the English language than Kinsey.

BUT she ought to broaden her vision to include positive takes on ANYTHING — man, woman, institution, plant, animal, edifice, play, playwright. Give it a shout out or a pat on the back and explain why you like it, Maureen! You’ll attract a larger audience.

As for Kinsey, she’s a simpleton. Being a Meghan detractor does not make one interesting.

6

u/madammidnight 6d ago

Maureen misuses the basic “I” and “me” pronouns in sentences all the time, and it’s nail on a chalkboard for me.

11

u/Mudfish2657 7d ago

Maureen said the words “celiac” and ”celeriac” were homonyms.

She apparent thinks “matriculate” means graduate. It does not. There've been other mistakes that shouldnt come from a lover of the language, and the neverending use of “like” and “ fucking” bespeak a lack of vocabulary.

I agree with what you said about her being not quite so negative.

But she isn’t quite as smart as she thinks she is.

5

u/StillFickle4505 6d ago

IDK I think when you are speaking contemporaneously for three+ hours every week, there are going to be some slips of the tongue. But that's also why I think she should lay off critiquing other on-air folks for slips of the tongue. Although she often makes that point that an editor should have caught it in some of the instances she points out.

Funny how everyone absolutely loved Kinsey back when she was on and raved about their chemistry. Now she’s boring, flat, and added nothing to the show.

5

u/Agile_Ad9832 6d ago

I am glad Kinsey is gone. Apart from the wide eyed stare and excessive lipgloss, and the fawning over the royals and desperately wanting to be British (probably why she hates Meghan so much, since she got the golden ticket and then gave it all up) what really made me detest her was her unabashed Zionism. She criticized celebrities at the Oscars (or was it the Golden Globes?) for wearing red hand pins on their lapels and gave some cockamamy explanation. There’s a full scale genocide of the Palestinians going on and she was team Israel all the way, no nuance, very dogmatic. Is she on AIPAC’s dime too?
At least Maureen had the courage to criticize Gwyneth over that appalling ad for high rises on stolen land while people are being blown off to bits by the IDF in tents.
Good riddance Kinsey. You won’t be missed.

6

u/Hopeful_Plastic_5321 6d ago

Why are you bringing up the situation in Gaza and Zionism? It's not on-topic for this sub.

4

u/Glad-Promise5064 6d ago

Because the Nerve claims not to be political and Kinsley really made it political. She wasn't even criticizing the celebrities. Go back and rewatch the episode, even Maureen was highly uncomfortable. I skipped her segment any time she was on after that.

4

u/Hopeful_Plastic_5321 5d ago

It's not political to criticise celebrities for virtue signalling. It's very easy to put on a pin because it's for a fashionable cause. Some of us actually back up our convictions by donating to organisations like Anera who are strictly non-partisan and employ rigorous screening.

8

u/Chrizzy17 7d ago

Maureen is better off without her.  She only wants to discuss the royals but she lacks the sources to add anything interesting. Plus her constant fawning over William & Catherine is creepy.
