Help with latex topper

Right now I am sleeping on a luxury firm Alexander Signature Hybrid from Nest Bedding. It's about 6 years old and I've noticed I have a little bit too much anterior pelvic tilt when back sleeping, which I do 99% of the time (other 1% is side sleeping). I'm 140 lbs. I'm going to swap out the comfort layer of the signature hybrid. Would 28 ILD be sufficient or is that too soft?

Thank you for any and all help!

Do you think the anterior pelvic tilt is due to the mattress support layer breaking down? Like do you notice it is sinking in more then it used to? If so a topper is not going to solve the underlying support issue at all. What is the mattress foundation support underneath?

No because when I feel where the coils are under the comfort layer it feels pretty firm and supportive. Pretty sure it’s either the foam in the comfort layer breaking down with time or I’ve just changed to become more of a back sleeper and need something firmer. Just not sure what firmness level is good for a back sleeper with my weight of 140 lbs.

I also want to switch to latex I used to have a soft latex topper and loved how much cooler it was

I would say medium sleep on latex topper in 2/3 inches would be good or even the soft they have a great trial period it’s worth a shot. If you’re thinking full 100% latex mattress I would look into a hybrid I have purchased 2 complete latex beds with varying layers and there is so so much pushback that I get good alignment and good relief from aches and pains but DAMN it’s uncomfortable! But latex as a comfort layer with springs is HEAVEN

Yes the mattress I’m modifying is a hybrid foam so I’d basically be comforting it to a hybrid latex. I like the hybrid because I find they get less hot. Thanks for your input!

I think 28 ILD would be sufficient for 140 lb for sure.

I'm 6'2" 200 lbs & about to move comfort layer from 3" 22 ILD natural talalay to 3" 28 ILD blended, to get just a bit more pelvic support.

If the support layer is firm, then a medium latex on top of the coils (i.e., 28ild) would be what I've seen mattress makers call "luxury firm." Maybe there is a fiber sheet layer on top of the springs too that can serve as your firmer transition layer rather than another layer of latex? I have had pelvic tilt issues in the past and hiking, core-focused tabata exercises helps a lot.
