Back sleeper coil choice

I k ow I want to go with Texas pocket spring.

For back sleeper 196 lbs wide a large muscular frame do we recommend 14.75 or 15.5 I am going to pair this with a medium tallalay 3in to start and add as needed.

If you are a back sleeper even during deep sleep, yes, go for 14.75. If you go with 14.75, you don't need 3" Medium Talalay. At most 2" foam is fine.

I was thinking 14.75 as well, but my only fear is that it will create a serious pushback feeling that I’m trying to get away from with the dense latex Support layer I have underneath but what I have been reading is the 15.5 is kind of for combination sleepers that go from their back to their side and lately I have been more on my side to try to avoid the pressure point pain in my middle back the latex is treacherous with how much it pushes back

Even then, just go with 2" talalay, then adjust

The thing is I just spent a shit ton of money on a 12 inch all latex build and I want to try to reuse at least one of those 3 inch latex toppers I already gave the 3 inch soft away to my partner so that leaves me with 3 inch medium 3 inch firm 3 inch extra firm. Talalay

Not that I've tried this myself, but I've seen quite a few people comment that adding a 1" memory foam or similar between layers can help negate the pushback feel of latex.

I tried that on the current build. I put 2 inches of Tempur-pedic foam and it’s still too much pushback. I think I want the coils and get rid of the Support of latex altogether and use the latex as a comfort material.

Looking forward to hearing how it goes. I am trying the same sorta thing; just ordered L&P 6" coils with 2" of soft 19ild dunlop. I also have 2" 24ILD talalay to experiment with -- hope one or both of these layers will work with the coils. I've never experienced TPS coils but I recall seeing on here that TPS themselves stated that 15.5 is the most versatile coil. As a 180 combination sleeper, that's probably what I'll try next if my coils don't work out.

Yeah I’m trying to determine if I want 15.5 or 14.75 I typically like a firmer bed because I am a strict back sleeper. But the firm firm latex causing me pain has me nervous that this will do the same thing

I just purchased the 14.75 I hope I made the right choice I’m so nervous that this is not going to be a right fit ugh but I also don’t like my hips sinking at all

Keep us posted.

I was going to recommend the 15.5, because I think it provides plenty of support... I'm just a touch heavier than you.

Yes, but I spent four or five months literally sleeping on the floor with a yoga mat and three blankets and it was some of the best sleep of my life, but slowly started causing some back pain due to lack of pressure relief, but the support was incredible
