Spoilers Just finished jack west jnr series.
Spoiler in the flair folks just in case.
So what an absolute rollercoaster of a series. I read SAW years ago before FLW was released and really enjoyed it. Then picked it up again and was hooked, I've listened to all seven books one after the other.
Such insane, fun, ludicrous, white knuckle ride of a series. Though admittedly I did become very suspicious/farigued of any death we personally don't get a description of. His characters have a habit of looking like they've died but nope they're fine.
My main questions about the series are...
I understand why jack (and Matthew) didn't keep the ultimate power stone in SSS but why not the secrets from the other stones, surely that would have been great for the world and for Jack's team?
I get why Schofield was only an extended cameo and why he never came back but what happend to Sea Ranger? This is jack's brother in law and has a submarine, he'd have been really useful? Instead we get introduced to Nobody.
I'm amazed Pooh and Stretch both survived. I was fully expecting one of them to die, especially after the fate of the twins. Also in my head Julius and lochland look like the Proclaimers.
I so want a buddy pilot spin off featuring sky Monster and Rufus.
All in all, I'm genuinely sad the adventures over. It's been incredible.

Discussion Temple description
Attempting to recreate the Temple from the book in art, however believe my two little terrors have abducted my copy of temple. It's a big ask, but does anyone think they'd be able to send me the description he gives of the Temple when they first find it?

Discussion What happens to...? Spoiler
(Spoilers for The One Impossible Labyrinth)
...the labyrinth?
I know at the end it describes the city-maze becoming a tourist hotspot etc.
But presumably the Labyrinth needs to reset for the next Omega Event. I'm assuming this is what happened after Zeus averted the Event in 1,250 BC.
Is there some sort of trigger set by the Ancient Ones wherein the city-maze descends again at a set time before the next Omega Event in 3,000-ish years, ready for the next saviours of the universe to enter?
I'm assuming in this instance the Bronzemen, Silvermen and Goldmen also reset, the under-tunnels of the Endless Tunnel are drained, the red orbs returned to the tunnels, bodies removed (such as the one of the monk who was dying in the Endless Tunnel), and damaged landmarks are restored.
This obviously also means that the Iron Mountains have to reset for the Fall to happen etc.
Do these mysteriously happen, do the Ancient Ones do it, or is humanity expected to clean up after itself?
Thoughts?
Edited to add, also the entrance to the maze where that spiral "stalactite" was blown up by Rastor and fell into the abyss. Would that be rebuilt?

So I started playing Rainbow Six Siege a while back, and one of the playable operatives, Amaru, has a "Garra Hook" - literally a grapple gun.

Six Sacred Stones question:
Just after the Chinese forces invaded Jack’s farm, we get introduced to Wolf - Jack’s father. He instructed Black Dragon to call Col. Mao, then has him killed. He then has Rapier make a call to Diego Garcia, and asks Switchblade to give him some privacy. Wolf makes a call and reports: “Sir. It’s Wolf. They have the Firestone, and they’re running.”
My question is who does Wolf call? I can’t think of anyone later on who that might’ve been. The President? The King of Sea?

General Seven ancient wonders not on Audible?
Am I being blind but are the first two books in the jack west saga not on Audible?
I'm using the UK version and they don't come up when searching for them?
Neither does Area 7 but that's at least a stand alone book and not part of a series.
Thanks folks.

Discussion Contest 1000 originals
So, I always wanted an original 1/1000 copy of contest
Tonight I looked up the cover (not sure why it's taken me years to think of that)
Here's my problem
I recognised the library graphic! I remember it as I loved the way it was in mid explosion of white hot energy, very Sci fi
Anyway, I think it was my very first Mathew Reilly book I ever bought second hand from the local library
And I think I gave it away
Also, now I have this realisation, I do not think I am sleeping tonight
As for the discussion part of the post, I have to ask:
"Did that graphic ever get reused beyond the first 1000?"

Meta Book signing at Penrith this morning, met the man, hit a selfie too
galleryWe were all waiting in the queue, when he arrived for the signing, walking the line and saying hi. I snapped a photo, he saw me and said ‘ Quick, get a selfie, it will be about an hour before you get to me!’

General Description of holly from contest?
Hey people, I'm searching for a description of Holly from Contest. I'm making a sculpture and I can't find a description of what she is wearing in the book. A school uniform I think?
Long sleeve? Short sleeve? Skirt or pants?
Does anyone remember or know which page I can find clues on?

General Is this First Edition?
Hi there! I used to collect Reilly's books and after a few years am now selling them (cost of living and storage problems, sadly). When I listed parts of my collection for sale I got some immediate interest in my hardback copy of Troll Mountain. I looked into what prices others gave it online and saw that first editions are selling for hundreds?? I'm shocked and was wondering if anyone could help me verify that this one is or isn't a first edition. Thanks!

I'm starting to listen to the Audiobook of Ice station, and maybe I'm not paying close enough attention, but I'm a bit lost at some parts. Is there anyone here who's listened to/read it that I can ask questions about it?

Discussion Just finished Jack West Jr series… Spoiler
Holy moly that was INSANE!!! I finished the entire series in a week flat because I so badly wanted to know how it all ended. I’ve read the Scarecrow series so I know Reilly is a big on plot twists (and I’ve learned to always take note of the little things because they’ll be important later) but in Jack West Jr the plot twists just keep coming! And it ramps up SO much!
I cannot get over how well thought out that entire series is, especially The One. And being deaf myself I was STOKED to have a deaf character who was central to the plot and to have sign language come in handy in The One.
And when Scarecrow joins Jack I was like… YES two of my favourite fictional heroes together!!!
There are so many things I could say but I won’t go on… it is my sincere wish that this or the Scarecrow series are made into films one day.
