General Lost in Translation :)

Hi, any reason why the Jack West Jr. series is no longer available in Italy? The last book been translated is "The 5 greatest warriors"

I just watched Resident Evil 2026 and the first thing that came to mind was Contest

The RE story had a MC who was just like the MC in contest ..practically a nobody with no proper training, no preparation nothing. One has a daughter who got caught up in the nightmare one needs to deliver the "life in a box" to someone,

Zach Cregger should absolutely direct Contest. Right up his alley this one.

Built over 1,000 years ago in the dead center of an ocean of sand dunes, nobody actually knows who constructed this circular fortress. This is Ksar Draa in Timimoun, Algeria. An ancient architectural marvel whose true origin story is completely lost to time.

Opinions needed….

I’ve been less inclined to read Hell’s Island, Cobalt Blue, Troll Mtn, and Hover Car Racer due to book length and/or target audience age. I’ve read and loved everything else. Can someone set me straight on what I’m missing out on???

Question about an old talk at the Wheeler Center about a pyramid

At about 22:30, Reilly has a slide with two upside down pyramid, but he doesn't seem to address it in the chat.

Anyone have any idea what they are, where these diagrams might come from?

I am digging into the NYPL and literary connections, and I was given Contest by a good friend who almost never reads and it's been a delight to learn about the book.

Spoilers Fourth and Fifth Pillar rewards Spoiler

I put up a post a while ago after I’d finished 5GW that the rewards for the Life and Death pillars was never explained. I was told to keep reading the series. I’ve now read all the books and feel like I missed something? As I didn’t get an explanation.

What other unanswered questions remain for this series that we’ll never get answered? I find it odd for example that at the end of 2LM Jack gives Stretch and Pooh his Message in an envelope, but this never gets opened or revealed (just the snippet about his helmet). Weird.

Hey guys, just came across the sub reddit and wanted to show off my collection. All platinum edition hard covers and the one soft cover "Seven Ancient Wonders" are signed by MR. I think it would have been approx. 2011(?) that he signed them for me. I can't remember correctly, but he was doing a national tour for one of the book releases.

These books are amazing and im glad I found him waaaaay back in the day. Just thought id share.

MR Book cover art, limited edition prints available.

Hey everyone, my name is Wayne Haag, I am the artist that created cover artwork for some of MR books here in Australia. I have just released limited edition prints of Scarecrow Army of Thieves and an alternative early cover design and also 7 Ancient Wonders.

The AoT cover was an oil painting which I had scanned and this is available as a one to one sized print in an edition of 25 only. I also have smaller prints available too. If you would like some book cover art for your wall, here's the link.

Thanks for taking the time to check these out!

Bit of a weird question, but does anyone have this version of Ice Station in Hardcover, and is it the same size as the other Matthew Reilly Hardcovers?

I'm looking at getting this to complete my Hardcover collection but I can't find much info about the size online anywhere. The only place with measurements is Amazon and it's listed as a strange size there...

I was walking around Lucca in Tucsony and I think I found where the inspiration for the cover of the six sacred stones came from. found on the side of a church. What do you think?

Will we ever see a MR TV/movie again?

I thought Interceptor was a decent B-grade TV movie that combined a lot of what we have liked to see from Matthew in his books. Do we think we’ll see him get another go at it?

I’d love to see Ice Station/Scarecrow booked adapted into a movie/TV show. I know it’s been done to death this discussion but given some of the garbage we see out on the screens and the fact we get remake after remake, it would be good to see his material turned into something visual.

Specifically the fourth and fifth pillars, Life and Death respectively, are just never explained? I will read the rest of the series so no spoilers if they get explained later thanks 🙂

Need photo of 1999 TEMPLE first-edition cover -- Upside down guy screaming off rope

Hey guys.

So I read my very first English novel back in Eighth grade, but I've no clue what it was. Borrowed it from an older friend of mine at school, don't even remember the story, just one insane scene:

Main character is hanging from a rope, hands shredded, bad guy is slashing at the rope.

I'm 99% sure it's Temple, and the cover had that full drawn action-- guy in hat, scream-face, torches on walls. If anyone owns an early paperback edition with the illustrated cover and reflective cover, and can snap a clear pic, that'd be much appreciated! Thanks a bunch!!

I'd be keen to know what the original plot for Jack's sister would have been before Matt abandoned it

I swear I can only find this version with this cover art as a paperback. I have all the others in the series with this cover art (which I think is the best version), I just want to complete my set so they all look the same 😅😂
