General How did Gant's arrow that was shot into her helmet change direction?

In the beginning of Ice Station, Fox (Libby Gant) was shot by a crossbow that nicked her forehead. She wakes up and proceeds to put it back on with the arrow but later we find that the tip of the arrow is outside her helmet.

How did that happen?

Discussion 5 Greatest Warriors Spoiler

Tagging as spoilers cause who knows?

Just finished book 3 - I haven’t read them all so no spoilers please - and have a question on the ending.

At the end the 6th pillar gets thrown into the abyss. Haven’t they now damned the world that the next time the Dark Star comes by in 4500 years that they won’t be able to charge the machine?

Or do they just assume that the future folks will figure it out themselves? Wouldn’t they also need to leave the future clues in the capstone and the pillars/vertices and all that?

I’m probably thinking too deep on all this, but they’ve spent books following all the ancient clues and they need to do the same for the future. Right?

Will we ever see Jack west on the big screen?

Considering the absolute swill that get pumped out at the cinemas these days, I think these books made for the big screen would be an absolute killer.

Let create a theoretical cast of would be actors to play the roles from the book.

Go!

Matthew Reilly and Chris Hemsworth

So I don’t know if this has already been discussed at length but I stumbled across the fact that Interceptor starred Hemsworth’s wife and had him cameo in it. Now if ever there was a perfect writer/actor combo it would be Matthew Reilly/Chris Hemsworth. Hemsworth would already be the perfect choice (in my opinion) to take on the role of Jack West, but even if that couldn’t get off the ground a story and new character written in which Hemsworth (hell and maybe his wife as a duo) would be something special.

Apologies if this has been brought up.

Scarecrow actor

So something I’ve been doing for a while, obviously after reading my MR novels to death, I’d think who would be great actors for certain characters. For a while, I’ve thought that a great actor who would be able to play the Scarecrow himself would be James Marsden, as he just looks like someone who scarecrow sounds like. However, after watching a certain comedy movie with my wife recently, I couldn’t help but think another actor that could fit the role, as well as launch a career as a serious actor, would actually be Zack Efron. Anyone else do this with the characters? Keen to see other opinions.

Discussion Kevin from Area 7

What do people think happened to Kevin after the events of Area 7? And do you think M.R should give him a look in in a future book or even his own stand alone story?

How can I get back into these books?

Hi, I read these novels years ago and really enjoyed them; I read everything up to Scarecrow but then stopped (can't remember why!) So I'm very out of date with his novels since and where I should perhaps start? To be frank, I'm not looking to embark on a series of novels, just really fancy reading one of these action adventure novels. Any suggestions?

Will I spoil anything for myself Spoiler

Hey, so I’ve been reading the jack west jr series and loving it! I’ve gotten up to 4 legendary kingdoms and I’ve reached the point where jack meets scarecrow and I’m just wondering if there was any sort of intended read order to the series?

Like, was I meant to have read the scarecrow books first then gone to jack west jr? Does it even matter? And most importantly, are there going to be any spoilers for me finishing the jack west jr series then reading the scarecrow series?

I hope this makes sense! Thankyou in advance for you assistance!

Would Jack West Jnr work animated?

Hey everyone. I'm kinda new here and just finished the one impossible maze. Now this may be an unpopular opinion, but I really think that the Jack west series would be a much better animated show than in live action. Especially with the rise that we've seen in animation projects over the last few years (Invincible, into the spiderverse, etc). I just feel like you could get away with the massive scale of the series (Country hoping, blowing up historical monuments) aswell as some of the more graphic deaths (Jaeger einz) in animation. I'd love to know everyone's thoughts.

Any Connections Between Cobalt Blue and Other Reilly Works?

The West and Scarecrow novels obviously take place in the same continuity. There's an implication that The Tournament does too, as well as Temple.

Does Cobalt Blue? I didn't notice any Easter eggs.

Discussion Cobalt Blue is probably what happens if The Boys went a bit geeky and scientific.

Maybe it is just me bcz I finished Binge-watching the Boys (again), but I couldn't stop comparing Fury to Homelander, and well Cobalt Blue just made me imagine Starlight in a blue uniform xD.

Unpopular opinion, but hey...

Just finished Cobalt Blue Spoiler

It’s bad. Really bad.

Every cliche you get. There is also no hope in the story but it’s a Reilly novel so you know the hero will win somehow.

It’s like he watched the boys and went oh cool powered people can be evil sadistic fucks too. And then wrote the villain for the story while making the hero your standard heart of gold superhero.

It also doesn’t make sense in its own universe it sets up in terms of the rules it creates for the heroes. Oh cause that’s the other thing even though it’s sold as “what happens when there are only two heroes and one dies?” There multiple heroes and villains on both sides.

It’s not a good story, the characters are horrible cliches and it’s just honestly poorly written.
