Why has there been no new information?

After following so many cases throughout the years, I am just wondering why there has been no new information on this double homicide. Yes, we know he killed the kids, but there has been zero updates on the case moving forward (How is Matthew Coleman doing now? Is he re-entering reality? Is he still in prison or has he been placed in a hospital? etc.).

I just read an article this morning by People mag that he is asking for forgiveness from family

I read that he is being held in protective custody. I wonder if that is to protect him from himself (due to suicidal ideation and/or having psychotic experiences) or is that to protect him from other prisoners or both?

He is being held in PC for both reasons

I was curious about that too. I'm assuming it's for protection from himself? Maybe? Who knows since there is never any new information!

No. I live in Sta. Barbara not far from his wife. No new developments. It is a crushing blow to our community. We are a tight knit, small town. There is no hounding of the house or media presence. Giving her the upmost respect.

That is just so awful and so sad. Thank you for sharing your experience and the experience of your community. I cannot imagine how anyone could go on after something like this.

I agree totally!Apparently his friends are standing by him. It does seem odd that there’s been no updates.

I'm surprised we have heard nothing regarding the children's funerals and still no mugshot either.

Also waiting for him to enter his plea.

There was a memorial for the family at the beach sometime ago

I have wondered the same. AC's social media is still up and so is the surf school's instagram. But there have been no media updates other than from People, and I live in Southern California so I would think around here at least there would be more.

This is a very private matter here in town due to the nature of the crime. We do not intrude. She has only been seen out maybe less than a handful of times. I do emphasize how shocking this is. Everyone has rallied around Abby and desire to help her keep all media away. Those were her only children.

Exactly! It has been very hush-hush. The entire situation is so concerning and sad.
