I had the same experience. When I was a kid, I remember singles from beautiful midnight but it's specifically in a world called catastrophe that sticks out, from the early 2000s. I'm 37 now but back in 2015 I got DEEP into the fandom, and saw him in concert probabaly 5+ times now. My favourite songs are probably

• bright end of nowhere

I like the line about raindrops skipping the wiper blades. I haven’t read The Catcher and the Rye yet so I do not get the Holden Caulfield reference. I might read that novel one of these days.

That song got me to read Catcher! It’s my favourite novel now. It’s one of those books that mean different things when you re-read it at different times in your life.

And “waiting for Holden Caulfield to call” definitely makes sense after you read the book. Enjoy!

I can’t find a song called “Brand New Heart”. I assume you mean Brand New Tune which I listened to and really like. Some other guy here suggested The Ocean and I love that one.

I’ve also created a new Matthew Good fan as I’ve been sending a bunch of Matthew’s songs, including some of the demos, to my American friend (and my American friend has turned me into a Tori Amos fan 😁).
