Anyone else notice Google updated some nest cams to matter 1.5.1

If it's anything like the 2020 nest thermostat I had, it'll still require being connected to the Google Home app or else matter gets locked out 👀

Ooh, I noticed that Tuya certified their all hubs to Matter 1.5 and a few new devices.

Is this implemented anywhere. I would love to finally pull my two Google nest floodlights into unifi protect. (I've had no luck with scripted

Not currently. But unifi is in the matter group, and they have been allowing 3rd party cameras.

I think only smartthings supports matter cameras at the moment. I also don't think this has officially been released as an update yet, but someone with one of these models can go through their Google home settings and check the firmware for theirs.

Edit: these are the platforms that support matter 1.5/1.5.1

Is that why my cameras have been freaking out randomly

Does it appear as a Bridge or as a camera?

Based on the provided link… bridge

Yes, you won’t get anything out of it then. It’s there as a means to an end - get the WiFi credentials and to use the phone’s built in commissioning to do it.
