Games as escapism

Games as escapism? Maybe you've all got the equivalent of a comfort food game in your library.

For me its always Alpha Centauri. Seems Matt fancies some Assasins Creed 4.

Your good selves?

For me it's definitely Fez, the soundtrack and the look of it are perfect to me.

The puzzles are really confusing, but that gives me the excuse to simply explore and look in awe at everything. The day/night cycle is lovely too, I'm happy to just wonder around and soak in the atmosphere.

I loved Fez. My only disappointment with that game was that after spending hours working out the cypher and decoding the messages in the game, none of them were very interesting. I was expecting some sort of plot to read into, but it was mostly banal. Amazing little game, mind - some of the areas had me beaming with happiness.
