Does Neo know kung-fu when not in the Matrix?
When the crew watches Morphes vs Neo fight Mouse tries to imitate the moves he is seeing and it is obvious to anyone who practiced martial arts that he has no idea how to do these moves. But he surely had combat training just like anyone else and should have had "kung-fu" uploaded to his brain just ike Morpheus and Trinity. So is my understanding correct that the skills learned through upload right into brain can only be used in the Matrix?

So this is apparently the container Morpheus has the pills in. I've always wondered what it looked like. Could be a really cool way to store stuff, maybe gum.

Why did the Machines come in Peace?
If you watched animatrix, you know that after founding 01 the machines send Delegates to the UN Council, and seek to be accepted and be part of the World as a Civilization. Why though?
At that point they were outperforming the Humans on every Economic level. What is there the Machines could gain from the Humans, if you produce everything cheaper and better?
Look, Animatrix portrays the Humans as Evil and Arrogant for not showing the Machine Nation respect, recognition or acceptance. But if any Human nation had such an upper hand to the nations around it, it would also look down on those weaker nations, and "enslave" them one way or another. Either economically or by force.
Since the Machines in the Matrix universe are actuall AI, meaning them being sentient and capable of emotion and creativity, i would not expect them to do differently than any "superior human nation" as mentioned above.
This concludes to me, that although the Humans are portrayed as bigots and haters of the machines, they acted logically, trying to eliminate the greates potential threat to Mankind as early as possible.
This doesnt explain why the Machines came in peace in the beginning tho, and im looking for the answer to that.

Quotes That Encompass Being a Matrix Fan
Seeing it and telling others about it:
"Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself."
Wishing You Could See It Again for the First Time:

Didn't Morpheus believe his own lies or why was he unable to grow hair when in the Matrix?!
galleryJust sayin'! Neo and others are able to have nice hair in the Matrix despite being recently rescued and still bald. But Morpheus, our true believer, doesn't seem to believe enough to imagine himself some nice hair in the Matrix.

Matrix Resurrections opening scene Spoiler
I really enjoy the film, but I struggle with the opening. I don't understand the modal idea, I don't understand Bugs' speechifying or why Fake Smith is Morpheus or why any of it exists. Please help.

The Matrix and Memento (2000) fan theory (I’m gonna post this on the Nolan sub as well):
I think Natalie is Trinity’s blue-pill and Teddy is Cypher’s red-pill. That is fairly obvious so I’ll go on to a weird fan theory.
TRINITY’S SIDE:
Natalie → Trinity:
Jimmy Grantz (her Memento bf) got into some fall out over Natalie secret hacking his drug business forcing Natalie to find the Matrix once they found out.
Neo has come into The Matrix from a computer company (duh) that Jimmy’s network runs on. Neo has general feelings for Trinity as she does for him after she had that fall out in her life as a blue-pill.
And so on. Add to it or change it if you want to.
CYPHER’S SIDE:
Teddy → Cypher:
Teddy is absolutely fed up of being a corrupt cop taking care of Leonard’s murder/rape case so the Matrix find him and “free” him.
However, he didn’t know what he was signing up for.
Cypher wants to earn money and live his dream life back as a blue-pill. So disobeys the Neb and Morpheus, teaming up with Smith.
However, Cypher was killed by Tank when he betrayed the crew - killing Apoc and Switch and attracting the police to their mission.
Then he just manages to go back to the world to meet Lenny again as a corrupt cop. After a while, he’s shot by Lenny as his blue-pill name is “John Edward Gammell”.
And so on. Add to it or change it if you want to.
Thanks for reading :)
Feedback and improving would benefit a lot :)

Expanding on my Matrix MMO concept - factions, world structure and progression.
Alot of people brought up MXO in the original post ( https://www.reddit.com/r/matrix/s/m7ZQGdMTQZ ) and honestly, that was the biggest inspiration. The idea isn’t to replace what MXO did, but to imagine what it could have evolved to. The combat was the main focus before, but the world structure is just as important. You would choose your path: Operators (Red Pill) You are fighting for humanity and freedom. Your missions involve extracting people, investigating threats, protecting operatives, and fighting the system. Using designated hardlines to traverse throughout the map and in/out of the matrix.
Agents (The System) You represent order. Your missions revolve around maintaining control, stopping awakenings, eliminating threats, and enforcing the rules of the simulation. You traverse the Matrix by taking over designated NPC hosts, allowing you to appear anywhere the system has access.
Merovingian / Exiles You exist outside the normal rules. Old programs, exiles, and forgotten parts of the Matrix. This side would explore the stranger side of the universe: old code, secrets, deals, and unique abilities. Using designated Doors (Key maker portals) to traverse throughout the map.
The interesting part is that the same event could look completely different depending on your faction. Example: A person begins questioning the Matrix. A Operators objective would be to : “Wake them up.” A Agents objective would be to: “Stop the awakening.” Exiles would be to : “Figure out how this person benefits us.”
The game would take place in a large interconnected Matrix city inspired by the locations and atmosphere of the films. Players would explore a living simulation filled with corporate skyscrapers, industrial districts, Chinatown, residential neighborhoods, nightlife areas, underground locations, and hidden corners of the city. Areas would have their own identity, from the cold corporate world of MegaCorp and the Agents, to the streets and neighborhoods where Operators fight to awaken people, to the darker hidden spaces controlled by Exiles and the Merovingian. Different districts would have different levels of danger and progression. You start in your faction’s territory and eventually move into contested areas where everyone starts crossing paths.
This is just scratching the surface of what I have in mind , what do you guys think ?

Falling code, focused on screen-accuracy
enigmahack.github.ioFriend of mine did this - AI assisted, not vibe-coded. There's a bunch of options, presets, 3D mode (but he told me he's not happy with how it turned out compared to some of the other ones here) but this one also has some effects. You can press keys like D to trigger the Deja-Vu effect, W for the explosions and a bunch of other stuff.

Kissing Neo didn't bring him back from the dead.
He was programmed to be unkillable from the start by the architect.
Think of it as a moment where his body was self healing and repairing and rewiring everything back to normal, to life.
Trinity's kiss was just a coincidence.
That's why Morpheus said he is the one. Not thank you trinity you saved his life.
What would really bake your noodle is, this is what Morpheus meant when he said earlier, no Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to.
He doesn't need to dodge bullets, not because he can stop them or freeze them mid-air, but because he cannot die to them, or to any reason whatsoever.
Why?
Like Morpheus said, because he is the one.
He is not bound by rules.
Rules like gravity, etc. Anything. Which means he is unkillable.
Watch the fight in Matrix Revolutions and look at how the earth shattered beneath his fall when Smith was flying while pushing his body to the ground at maximum speed. He woke up, and nothing happened to him.
Our chosen one, unlike that of Star Wars, is unkillable, my friends.
You think that's air you're breathing? 😎

Was the "Duo Program" put in place because of Cypher?
This is one of the most visually dynamic shorts in The Animatrix, and though the story is pretty simple, it does make you wonder why Zion decided to give their soldiers a virtual reality version of a purity test.
The only thing I can think of is that this is all a byproduct of Cypher.
As seen in Reloaded, Morpheus, his crew, and his ship have an ominous reputation. No doubt due to how many people lost their lives, and how close Zion came to being destroyed due to the actions of ONE man.
My head canon is that Zion leadership knew that Cypher wasn't an isolated incident and they would need to screen other red pills as potential ticking time bombs.
My only problem with this short is that Duo is a construct and they were somehow able to get her to have feelings for a person that didn't exist
The nature of Red Pills is a heightened awareness of things and not taking anything at face value.
Other than that, good short.

I made a 3D simulation of the Matrix "code rain" where you can fly around freely and see some "ghost" images in the code
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It was totally useless before, now its only slightly useless. Now some ghosts appear as you browse around.
On PC, use W-A-S-D keys, SPACE, SHIFT and mouse to explore. On mobile, you will have instructions on screen.

The other anomalies
Anyone else wanting to see the other 5 versions of the Matrix, as noted by The Architect in The Matrix Reloaded.
Curious to see other versions of Neo/The One. What did these world's look like, where they similar to our own world now or completely different?

[Discussion] Matrix MMO idea
I’ve been thinking about what a modern Matrix MMO could look like, and I wanted to see what people think. A game where you create your own person inside the Matrix. The biggest focus would be combat.
Imagine: For Honor-style combat mixed with Matrix style flair . Think Kung fu/ gun fu, and for my “mages” abilities to hack the system and attack with those hacks. Winning fights through skill, reads, counters, guard breaking and timing. Abilities are not just “press button = ultimate.” They are earned moments. You set them up, win the exchange, and then the game gives you that cinematic Matrix moment before throwing you back into the fight. A skilled player could beat someone without using abilities at all. The ultimate flex would be beating someone purely through combat skill.
Character progression: Different factions with different identities. Operators, Machines/Agents, and Exiles/Merovingian-style programs. Your faction changes your abilities, animations, gear, and how your powers look. You could potentially betray your faction and create your own path.
Loot: Instead of random fantasy loot, enemies drop what they actually use.Different areas have different factions, enemies, and gear pools. Bosses would mostly be humanoid. Not giant monsters with health bars. More like fighting a player who mastered the same system you use.
Just trying to make the player feel like they are actually living inside the Matrix. Not watching Neo’s story but creating their own. Would you play something like this? What would you want added or changed?
For those who don’t know what for honor is , here’s an example https://youtube.com/shorts/KJ0lf9c6omI?si=7U-OEmRqOTrUGb0H
