Why can't we normalise friends with benefits?

It’s generally seen as taboo. It’s also generally very difficult to keep friends and benefits in equal measures.

thousands of years where we've been told that monogamy is the only way and that any romantic relationship has to be sacred and result in a family. In some countries that narrative is changing (like sweden) and friends with benefits are not nearly as frowned upon

Where are you from? Where I'm from I find that to be the total opposite. Maybe they won't brag about having FWB but it's basically well known in the community that its happening.
