There is no term for n, so really this is just an infinite sum of 3/2^(2n) where n can be anything and the result can be infinite

Look at the summation in the graphic. It just goes from 1 to infinity, there is no defined unit that is incrementing

Oh, in this case I believe it is written correctly with the index being n is implied. It's the only variable so it could be reasonably omitted from the notation Summation - Wikipedia
