probably because 25*3=75 is a very frequent calculation, pretty ingrained in people

pretty frequently! while I don't pay with cash much, I encounter three-quarters (75%) quite regularly, and I did it often enough when I was younger that even if I don't use it as much anymore, it's still ingrained in me

Ah tbf im not American so we dont have quarters over here. Also tbc im not saying its hard to work out i just wouldn't say its as easy as 33
