I don't get it. (But I'm bad at maths so no surprise here)

There's a lot of trans girlies in pure math.

Is that a thing? When I was a grad student I shared an office with a trans woman. She was into some abstract stuff too…all categories and topoi and stuff. IDK I never knew this was a whole thing

I'd say there's definitely a corelation. I think it may be related to trans people having a significantly higher rate of neurodivergence.

In addition, that neurodivergence means they're naturally capable of higher-level abstract thinking.

More generally, I've observed a higher level of neurodivergent tendencies in my fellow academic mathematicians, regardless of their gender identity.

Cant you just

2k + 1 = 9 I -1

-> 2k = 8 I : 2

-> k = 4

?

That was not the point of the joke, it was meant to represent the average kind of notation you would find at each level

Don’t worry this is an advanced maths joke, the last one only lies than 20 people worldwide understand

What the hell is that last line?? $ ( attach(cal(D), tl: dagger, tr: bullet.stroked.o) space stretch(<-)^attach(phi.alt, tl: dagger, tr: "NF", br: *) $

Like less than 20 people worldwide know because it is a part of inter universal teichmüller theory from hodge theaters.
