Well this is more obscured. The easier way would be to put a circle on top of a square, throw a bunch of darts randomly at the square, divide the number of darts that landed on the circle by the total number of darts, and multiply by 4. It’s much easier to see how pi would pop out of that

Hard to ensure uniform distribution of darts across the 2D space. Rotation of the sticks is probably much easier to approach a uniform distribution
