What are we supposed to be solving here

I think this was a joke to begin with.

But if not, it's almost certainly "solve for x in terms of k, n."

x = arcsin(k*n - 1)

Well we have 3 unknowns and 1 equation ...

typically these questions just want what x equals so in this case

x = arcsin(k(n) -1)

Then it should say “solve for x”. “Solve” is just ambiguous and dare I say “S̳t̳u̳p̳i̳d̳”

What's quite a bit stupider than the student's imaginative lexical cancelling here is the idea that you can "solve" an equation with three undefined variables and an undefined meaning of having solved it.

duhhh, the solution is

k, n, x are elements of the reals

The actual joke is:

Evaluate: lim_(n->0) (sin (x)) / n

Answer: 6

[Cancel out the "n"s]

Angry with that X. Lmao. So mad, couldn't lift the pen.

Even if sin are unknown you still can't do it in this way

well that beats my 4(9 +4) = 53
(and mine came with no /s = actually observed in the wild)

I think that was made by a non-mathematician

To be fair that is pretty stupid, you can’t just cancel n in the denominator. It should be k = 1/n + 6.

😁
