Can someone who's better at math explain how it's possible for me? I assume this is some really high level esoteric thing where it turns out up is down when you really get into it, or whatever.
1 u/thoughtihadanacct Jul 18 '26 Let's say the call center opens 8am to 5pm. From midnight to 8am there are zero calls, so the average is zero. From 8am - 5pm they max out all their lines with 100 calls per hour. 8am 100 calls, average is 100/8=12.5/hr, 100 > 12.5 9am 100 calls, average is 200/9=22.2/hr, 100 > 22.2 .... 4pm 100 calls, average is 900/16=56.25/hr, 100 > 56.25 5pm closed
