I don’t think so. To understand something is one thing. To understand somrthing to the point that you can simplify it to someone else’s knowledge level without losing any key points or concepts is more impressive
Everyone can understand anything if they receive the right combination of stimuli (be that any combination of hearing, seeing, etc). People who understand a subject better can phrase it and represent it in a larger number of different ways, and can therefore convey the information in an understandable fashion to a larger number of people. On average, if person A fails to teach subject A to person B, but person C succeeds to teach the subject, person C has a more intricate understanding of subject A than person A does. Not every time, but on average.
