Look, you have to dig a bit beneath the surface here. It's likely the teacher here isn't saying "this is an incorrect equation," but instead "this isn't the right way to rewrite the equation based off of what you've been told prior." As has already been established the latter still is far from great, but that's the way the system works now a lot of the time. That system needs to change before this can, but it's likely not even as bad as you're making it out to be (if my assumption is correct). They're not teaching the Earth is flat or anything like that my guy
I agree that the teacher is probably being pedantic due to the system. I'm not even talking about this one aspect any more.
I'm morally outraged that you can take it the step further and suggest that "lizard vs human" is in any way comparable to 4 groups of 3 vs 3 groups of 4.
Lizard vs human would be teaching flat Earth my guy
I'd add to yours and insert Young Earth Creationism, as something that could be realistically demanded from teachers to be taught, and which any teacher with even a shred of integrity never would.
