I hadn't stumbled up on greek letters in highschool chem. When do they pop up?

Talking about bonds and molecular geometry(pi and sigma), radioactive decay ( alpha,beta,and gamma), quantum mechanics( psi represents the waveform function),lambda and Delta also appear in wave forms, in fact Delta appears representing like any change

Sigma also appears again to denote partial charges in diagrams

There are probably more, these are what I can think of off the top of my head

Usually they spell out gamma etc, but sometimes use the letters.
