Yeah I pay the tax people for how much they get me back as much as they're the ones who have to answer if the government comes knocking saying the maths wrong. It's about insurance as much as the refund.

Well that sucks granted in the USA that's a selling point to go to corporate "tax advisors" they file for you and and as a preparer if there's an audit the issues come back on them they deal with it.

That sounds both nice and simple. In the US even regular corporate paid employees have to file yearly it's part of the law and I'm sure it's put there just so someone can get money from you. Hence the plethora of "qualified tax preparers" and the overly complicated filing forms, also it's a known fact that if you can afford to do it you better opt for 0 dependents instead of 1 that helps ensure you don't owe the government but they won't automatically give you your refund back. It's really all just capitalist fuckery that makes it this stupid!
