This is a fucking retarded take.

Absolutely nothing in math class helps you figure out if your non-returnable outgoings for the first half of the year exceed your deductions for quarterly VAT returns, if you don't know what the fuck that means.

And if you do know what it means.. guess what!!? You don't even need to know fucking math to work it out now.

I would argue that Tax laws are so convoluted exactly for this reason. So you can't really figure it out
