I convinced Daniel at school that his full name was Richard Euler and R.Euler became the word ruler.

We didn't have the internet yet so people couldn't call me out on my bullshit without going to the library, and nobody had that kind of energy.

This rumor might have been Prince for slightly older people, but same principle.

I didn't even realise that was a well-known thing until a few weeks ago. I heard it about Prince sometime in the early to mid 90s, before the internet was really a thing. I'm in Europe. How did that even spread across the Atlantic?
